I've been a Foxtel subscriber since 2001 and I've never been so disappointed with the service. I'll probably never get rid of Foxtel, but bloody hell they haven't done much over the last few years.
They definitely need to upgrade a lot more channels to HD! They also need to introduce new channels (I'm not talking about a no name Hong Kong news channel that nobody watches).

Had mine for years, but getting rid of it as soon as my contract is up in a few months. I used to be able to find some hidden gems (particularly on Discovery/nat geo/bbc knowledge/history) but it seems to be getting harder and harder to find anything decent, or Im not looking hard enough.

Getting rid of the isuggest function didn't help either. That was great for a heads up about things you may not usually come across.

Every time I ring up I threaten to cancel and I get a cheap short term deal with sport and the basic package. Not really arsed if I keep it or not but will keep it as long as I don't have to pay more.

I only have it for the footy really, but I do watch a few other programs off the basic channels. Over the summer I only have the basic package and then turn sport on again in Feb.

We're getting it at some point before March, from my perspective for the AFL and other sport (I wouldn't get it for normal shows I can download). Housemate wants the movie and premium drama package too I think, so I guess we won't be downloading some HBO shows.

They fast track all of the great USA shows (breaking bad, walking dead, SOA etc) and I don't really like to download everything/watch on computer


Also good to be able to pretty much always watch an ep of Seinfeld/Family guy etc

Also watch a lot of docos and IQ/series link is great

Not to mention the sport which is worth it alone

Basically the cost per month is easily worth it for me

I download shows I want to watch.

The only free to air I've watched in the last 6 months has been the AFL GF.

Yeah i can't believe they got rid of the isuggest function. I really like it and thought it was useful. I also hate how they got rid of gamesworld. Used to spend hours playing those games.
I also don't like the fact that they get rid replace channels and call them 'NEW'.

The 'Red button active' feature isn't used anywhere near it's potential. I remember with the old Fox Footy when you pressed the red button on selected games, you could choose the camera angle,see stats,turn off the commentary etc...

A full screen option should be added to all the Sky News active and Sky News Local screens.

Some channels that I would like them to add:
-NBA TV
-Fox Football (soccer)
-Fox Sports 4
-Soccer club channels (Man U TV, Chelsea TV, Barca TV etc....)
-Nickeloden Classic
-Sci-fi and Horror Movies channel
-Some more international channels
-European music channel (would like to see this, since the current music channels don't showcase Euro music)
- More radio channels

My main needs: AFL, UFC and the iQ box. And I love the apps, having the ability to whip out my phone and schedule a recording to my iQ box.

Things have been very stagnant for a while but that should change with iQ3 early next year.

Foxtel GO app is awesome, but they're still screwing us over with the main service. I reckon the last major change they did was back in 2009 when they introduced 15 new channels.

I was on my way home from somewhere one night, listening to ABC radio as Ashton Agar was batting on debut. So I pulled over and watched the cricket on my iPhone, until he went out for 98

I always toss and turn about getting it.
My main things are this:
I'd love to just buy the sports package, mainly for footy, but Foxtel know this is what half their subscribers want so they won't do this cause they'll lose money.
The other channels I don't find interest in, a lot of its rubbish (have family who have foxtel and often flick through when I'm there) or re-run after re-run, and with things so easy to download the fast tracked TV shows doesnt interest me, I just download onto a USB and take that to the big screen.
I don't know if I can justify getting it for the AFL games I want to watch, that aren't on free to air, that I can go to a mates for.

*I will add that I will one day cave and will probably subscribe within the next 12 months.

But I see you can't just get Sport, and even if you could, you can't get Fox Footy

Got talked into staying based on the sellers opinion that TBOX was inferior.

I really regret staying now and am looking at w/or not I can dump Foxtel and pay $25 a month next winter to get the live footy through the TBOX.

$25 for footy v $70 for rubbish....not hard to work out the maths.

Its worth it for the football alone. Its a luxury otherwise in the off season for me, I would only watch the music channel, tosh, tv1 (love US sitcoms), a movie or documentary or just anything I might find.

Yep so we are on $135 bundle, one mob, one home & 200G ADSL with Tbox. To get the extra Footy channel on Tbox is $25.

You can't record Tbox Fox as far as I have figured out which you can do on IQ...but what they do have is a free channel that connects to your club's replayed games going back up to 6 years.

So next year I will be paying $160 per month, be a happy Norf fan and not be paying an additional $70 for something we hardly watch.

Sweet, I'm on a 100gb bundle with 2 mobs, and pay 82 for foxtel HD. Apart from footy, I watch squat on foxtel.

The other day they tried to charge me $30 for a replacement remote, I just laughed and said you can either give it to us for free or cancel us. Should really look at dumping it now at least for the summer with no footy and especially with the Big Bash going to FTA. I like it but it is really a luxury.
