Fremantle Vs West Coast-Game Day Thread

Being in Melbourne I thought that I would get in early because I am SO excited about todays game. This is a real chance to set ourselves up to move deep into the finals by playing hard for that 4th spot. Today is the key though, Fremantle need to really stick it to West Coast to get some confidence back after the game against the Dogs. This would be a perfect lead up to the North Melbourne game at the Dome.

Win these 2 games and then play Carlton at home and we can take 4th spot. the Dogs have a tough run home. I especially want to see the boys do well after all of the old Eagles players have started to pop up saying that they are sick of losing. I hope that they are going to get used to it because they will most likely have a lovely 'Wooden Spoon' to suck on for the ENTIRE off season.

I've been nervous about this one all week. We should win, and easily, but the fact is it's a derby and derbies don't tend to rely on the ladder. But this is in our own hands, it's Freo's home game, we get all the supporters and West Coast are 16th on the ladder, it's our game to lose. C'mon Freo, keep making us proud!

Since Fremantle started winning derbies there has been very little between both clubs on the ladder, but Fremantle have for the most part just kept on winning. This is the first time in a number of years that there has been a large gap between the clubs on the ladder. Fremantle have more talent all across the ground and Harvey has had the wood on Worsfold tactically so far. No reason for that to change today.

As for the game today.
If there is a god he's turned on the perfect winter's day. Lets hope it is perfect at all levels.

With the ladder as it is we could have a buffer you can only dream of between 5th and 6th by winning today.

This one of the days were our Club needs to draw a line in the sand. Harvey said not so long ago we (our Club) will never go back to the way we were. Well today is the day our Team has to prove that statement. All to often we've climbed the mountain and run out of oxygen before the summit. We have to win today. We are expected to win today. Today will be as close a dress rehearsal for September as we'll get. Winning today is the only option.

WCE are all talk these days - line in the sand, pride on the line, sick of losing Derby, Cox and NicNat to work over Sandi, midfield to assert experience over youngsters... blah blah blah - the same as they were in rd 6. didn't work then, won't work now. I expect WCE to shoot their load once again by the half, all fire and brimstone, puffed up birdie chests - take a small halftime lead even - after halftime our superior tactics, skills and endurance run them over.
