So 10 losses by: 12, 3, 67, 49, 30, 28, 5, 10, 52, 63 (average loss 31.90 points)

2 wins by: 1 and 6 (average win 3.5 points)

No question what those numbers tell and it isn't a coaching staff that has clue one what it is doing. I don't and won't accept this crappola as part of any "process" that is good to go thru.

Just like all young teams who will tire mid to late season and I wouldn't call the Melbourne win "flukish" as both team played the entire 4 quarters and was one of the game of the season.

We got a gift at the end otherwise be looking at 1-11 in last 12 and if they are tiring maybe we need to find players that are in shape or a coaching staff that can get a team in shape. I mean c'mon these are allegedly professionals?

I definitely feel that pulling wins out of our asses against Geelong and Melbourne has papered over the cracks a bit. It gives people an easy out whenever the debate about Nicks rears its head. I'm not so biased that I can't see we've improved since last year but that was such a low base to start from. Putrid performances like GWS/Ess and choked games against other crap sides like Haw/Coll, really drain any feelings I have that the side is actually progressing.

Those numbers tell me we are a young team so you should be expecting this inconsistency like everyone have been saying to you.

We stink no doubt. Havd avoided smashings other than GWS and tonight, and tonight was worse than the margin.

NM lost by 130 to WB 4 months ago, last week by 25.

We are better than we were last season no doubt, but tonight stank

We aren't going to agree. I won't accept this crap as something that is necessary. We shall see how much more of it must be endured before other people realize this as well.

They are consistently non competitive. Consistency isn't the issue

Impossible, their young body can only take as much. Only experience and years of preseasons can assist.

Ok. So we could have expected to lose by 5 goals and not have our lowest ever score.

I dont think people realise how bad that is. About 650 matches? Played in sleet, rain and mud. and this was our lowest ever. Lucky not to lose by 80+
They were talking about how us and the Bombers were on the same "stage" of a rebuild, which seems weird to me because you have to ignore 2015 where they had pick 5 (Parish), pick 6 (Francis), 2016 where they had pick 1 (McGrath) and then spent 2017, 18 and 19 using their draft picks to top up with Saad (29), Smith (pick 11), Stringer (25 + 30) and Shiel (9).

They're at least 3-4 seasons ahead of us, just because they went deep into the last draft doesn't reset the clock.

What? 4 games lost by 2 goals with 2 of them by 1 goal and you call that non-competitive? Even last week's game we were competitive against a contender for 2-3 quarters.

Oh man....the we were competive for a portion of the game standard.

Okay..I suppose I need to get some work done.

I do hope everyone has a great weekend. We can do this all over again next week--unfortunately.

Sitting in the stands, as was also the case v Carlton...it amazes me how our forwards are not interested in moving forward of the ball to create options. Hard to see on tv, but rest assured, if we get the ball at half back, we are standing around just waiting for the high bomb. No leads, no multiple directions, no blocks, just stand 70m from the kicker and wait for the interceptor to mark it.

I see a hot mess from the top down. This organization is in dire need of a well thought out and articulated path out of this quagmire with people that actually know what the hell they are doing.
2 years ago you are totally correct
I think most of the problems have been weeded out now but it is going to take a couple more years do undo the damage and get us back where we should be

I think that's a little harsh. You could certainly say that about 2020. We've been in most games this year. You could say that's an achievement considering we haven't had Crouch, Talia or Milera on the park all year - and have hardly seen Lynch. No rebuilding club has the depth to cover four hardened, experienced best 22 players for an entire season. Last night was an outlier.

2022 is when you want to see us with 8-10 wins. All the coaches will come under pressure if we don't improve next year.

Question for you and just looking for an honest reply.

Why is it that we are to be accepting of losing and actively putting uncompetitive teams out on the field?

I can point to 2 organizations that do not need to "tank" and are consistently threats to advance in Finals and win Premierships. (Sydney and Geelong)

So why is it that this crap we put out there as our "plan" better? I can point to a half dozen plus squads that have lost for more than a decade straight. Is that really the path we wish to merrily march down?
We aren’t tanking, we are rebuilding. For the first time in our existence, we are doing an honest to god rebuild. with that comes pain. You either accept that, or get yourself all upset and angst ridden over something you have no control over, and life is too bloody short for that! Far more important things to worry about.

What we saw last night was why we need Tex there while Thilthorpe is still developing. Why a fit Sloane would be far more beneficial than the “bust his arse trying version” we have now. Even a fit Lynch would make a difference. We are week 18 into the season, with a prolonged preseason that many of them undertook this year, we are seeing tired bodies.

You have to experience pain in a rebuild. There’s no other way forward. And we’ve seen a LOT of encouraging signs this year. Slowly slowly, but it’s coming. Keep the faith.

Going into the last quarter I think he had only 7/8 touches to that point.
There was a play on the outer wing in the last qtr that he got about 4 useless touches in about 10 seconds

When do we go to the AFL asking for a priority pick? Any other club that is as bad as we've been the last 2 years at least asks.
We’ll just control what we can control…

Those numbers tell me we have shit delivery to a non existent forward line

When Himmelberg was withdrawn why did they go with Frampton ?

Either way
Priority pick please 🤣

Yes - i agree
They could have thrown Lynch up forward last night too though rather than Frampton ….
Mmm - I guess they thought with Essendon having so many really tall talls … ah … who knows

If this is their idea of a rebuild god help us all.

I don’t need to wait another year to know this coaching staff is in way over their heads.

I hope you are right and I am wrong—but after watching this garbage for 2 months plus, I feel confident saying whatever this is…it isn’t working
