Really good solid hit out.
Only absentees I noticed were Hinkley and possibly Lower.
Barlow trained before I got there the hit the gym.
Hilly ran lap after lap.
Mundy did only slow shuttle runs then left track early.
balla trained at high intensity with no issues that I could see.
jayden Pitt - lovely kick off both feet. Didn't miss a target.
De Boer - still in rehab but doing lots of work.
Roberts doing heaps of shuttle runs
Walters awesome kicking off both sides.
Anthony and Griffin laps only
Michie and Mellington very good pickups. Great disposers of the ball
Zachary was good and led most of the running stuff
More later

:thumbsu:cheers for the info, good to hear some of the guys with injury concerns getting around the track :thumbsu:

Sounds like cloak and dagger stuff RE Hill and Ballantyne as to whether they will be ready for round 1

Your assessment seems to be like they are both fine but it's just the club is taking it easy - they'll be fine :)

Cheers for the update Lach - anything is always much appreciated for anyone that can't get it especially us working folk

Used to love going to uni down in freo and seeing how the players were doing at training as well as seeing them out and about and asking them how they were doing as well :)

Did you catch how Mayne was going??

His kicking was a bit off but otherwise ok.

Luke did some runs then left the track.
Grover and Palmer looked good. Rhys' kicking in training is more natural, for some reason. Lack of pressure probably.

Mzungu runs hard although kicking to the leads was a bit short.
Bucovaz ran laps under the close attention of one member of the fitness staff

I thought Rhys's kicking was very relaxed in the NAB stuff. he seems to relaxed a fair bit with the field kicking.
I was there for a while this morning. It was great to see Hill, Fyfe, Mundy, DeBoer, Balla, Walters and my man Siba run out with the main group. Hill just pounded out the laps at a good clip, getting miles into his legs. He kicked a few footies toward the end. Looked to be moving without any problems so not sure why he's not doing the match sims yet.
Fyfe, Walters and Balla did all the match sim stuff. Walters I thought was really impressive playing as a high half forward. Some nice marks and that lethal left boot.
Balla looked a touch rusty but that's to be expected.
Fyfe is often the setup man in transition drills, the man releasing the ball which is great. He's the smartest player we have i reckon.
Siba seemed to be moving without any trouble. Again he looked a touch rusty but he centred the radar pretty quickly. Hope he lines up for The Demons in Rd 1 and works his way toward a senior game. Perhaps he will get a run in a NAB challenge game?
I'm really impressed by Michie. Think he'll play early in the year, maybe even Rd 1.

At the end of the match sims they ran in formation from goal to goal and back at a mid tempo pausing at each goal. It was a hot morning and after a full field drill they were really hot and they must have pounded it out from goal to goal at least 6 times. Some of the boys were just bucketing sweat by the end. Clarkes' running is super impressive he is always near the front of these kind of things. I think it's the endurance that is going to set him apart as an athletic tall.
That's all I can think of for now. I'm a bit distracted with work :)
I have some pics to put on the web later too if anyone's interested.

Harves on the radio today said Balla will most likely get some match practice in the WAFL before round 1 of AFL.

Enough time left to squeeze out news on my buddy, Alex Silvagni?

P.S. Thanks for report. sounds heartening!

Not training related but SCOS was out to dinner at the same restaurant as me on Wednesday. Seems to be doing quite well for himself....;)

Thanks for the updates guys!
Fantastic to hear that some of our injury clouds maybe lifting!

How was Johnno, Pav and Sandi looking?

How was Johnno, Pav and Sandi looking?

Totally off topic but I saw Sandi walking around Hannan St in Kalgoorlie. Obviously he was hard to miss but boy did everybody love him!

People were even yelling out to him as they drove by, mind you the bright spark that yelled out 'F$@ck you're tall' needs some new material. He was really took it in his stride.

By the way I was told he came from Dome, not the Gold Bar:D (they are near each other)
