What makes you think this? Every where I look I see "he doesn't want to be At Freo", "he's gone". What makes you think otherwise?

probably easier to quickly dot point the reasons:
  • he loves the freo football club
  • he loves WA and the life style in comparison to melbourne which he has described as a sprawling cold metropolis
  • his friends and family are in WA
  • freo will offer him just as much $$$ as any other club so money isnt an issue
  • freo have just as many corporate connections as any other club
  • premierships cant be guaranteed anywhere, unless you're on a GWS list which means you dont get the $$$
  • he's the captain (reduces the likelihood of leaving, its rare a captain leaves)
  • plus theres the small issue of him stating to the media multiple times this year that he will stay
i think this is nothing but a money grab. i think he's been informed by his management that in order for him to maximize his value and the conditions of his most important contract of his career he will need to make out that he will consider leaving/is fielding offers to maintain pressure. the reality of him actually wanting to leave = nill.

just to be clear you would want the two first from this year, wouldnt you?

given we probably improve next year as well?

Don't know if you've noticed but we are both 3 and 3 with Freo having the better form so far knocking of 2 sides in the eight. I can't follow why the Saints have supposedly more potential . Freo will also improve next year.

Agreed and add to that, the club now has training facilities that are second to non and he'll also be playing in a flashy brand new stadium every second week. Not huge points I know but I recon it would all factor in his decision making along with the points that you made.

my comment was on the hypothetical pick trade

Didn't say you did ,just pointing out that Freo is also rebuilding with potential. You're a Saints fan on our board so you seemed to be the logical poster to point that out to.;)

probably for the same reason david king said we wouldnt win a game in 2015

I don't give this fake news much credibility but if he did go and it was to the saints, I think we have seen his very best footy and they have 2 first rounders. If we could get those plus acres or Mccartin I would at least (reluctantly) give the deal some thought.

Probably seen the best of his physical game, he has had many surgeries and missed a fair amount of playing time. He's more solid than he was as a youngling which would probably assist his bursting through a throng and experience would help him make better decisions. If he's on the park I'd say those would cancel each other out (well, after he builds back up to his best after so much time out) I'd flip a coin on him being able to play the rest of his career without more major injuries though.

Comprehension not your strongest point ? Let me help you understand. Freo have as much potential if not more than the Saints . Fyfe will not be leaving Freo to go to the Saints for future success, he has more chance at Freo. Did that help.
No need to be douche Salim, was just asking a question. The only reason our future might look better then Saint kilda's at the moment (which I don't really agree on) is because we have Fyfe. If you take Fyfe from our team we are on the bottom of the ladder winless, if you put Fyfe on Saint Kildas team he would make them a top 8 team, easily.

Our club is St Kilda

Apart from that, I agree with your post

Fyfe has been good but not great . You are not giving enough credit to Neale, McCarthy, Mundy, Blakely, Weller, Hamling ,Hill's, Balic and the rest of the younger brigade. Pearce, Apeness and Bennell sitting in the injury list . Line the Saints up player for player with our lot and I get more ticks on our side than theirs.

Saints have to start theirs again imo, at least we've started ours

I assume he wants a premiership if he was to leave not just make finals every year and do no damage, which is where they're headed

Have you looked at their list? You can't be serious.

It's not all about having the best players. Look at Sydney, there midfield has Luke Parker, Dan Hannebery and Josh Kennedy in it and they haven't won a game. Saint Kilda are just as good as us if not better and they don't have Fyfe. Like i said before if you take Fyfe from our team and put him on their team they are a much better team then us.
That's what makes them an attractive destination.

Mate I don't give a stuff what you think, my auto correct changes it straight away so I really don't care. Saint Kilda , Saint Kilda, Saint kilda, Saint kilda
Does your auto correct have "Kilda" as uppercase, or lower?

Because it looks like you entered those four manually and you're telling porky pies :D

taking fyfe out of the equation. if you ask saints fans, they think their list is better. if you ask freo fans, they think their list is better.

the question is what does Fyfe think? personally i dont think the list is the defining criteria on how he makes his decision, but if it was and you were looking at it purely from fyfes perspective i think he would care more about what list will allow him to play the best football, the rest is a nice to have. i think for fyfe to play his best football he would want good inside mids to play with him. its similar to the selwood situation at geelong, when selwood lost the players around him, suddenly he was the sole target of the opposition. he wore the tag week in/week out, he was targetted physically at every stoppage and around the ground. it wears you down and the worst part of it, is when you're not playing your best football it affects your brand. look at how goddard and thomas fell from grace after being touted superstars in 2010. the wear and tear can shorten careers, daniel kerr is one example of this.

so what i think Fyfe needs from a list perspective are strong damaging inside mids around him. the more the better. that way clubs wont just go to him every week and if they do he has the protection around him to block/chop out etc.

it also means Fyfe would then have the flexibility to potentially play outside or on the flank, if he has a niggle or two. see how danger played fwd in weeks gone by after getting a nasty corky, without affecting his teams performance that much

good inside mids dont grow on trees. they're not that easy to find and they take a while to develop. blakely is a good example of this, he's a great young developing inside mid that i would argue has the potential to be one of the games best. but right now he's being used in a run with role, similar to what we did with ross in previous seasons. it often takes 4-5 seasons for them to get going. kennedy another example of this at sydney. its just such a hard position to play and it takes an incredible toll on the body.
