ANDREW Gaff is set to stay at West Coast after being seriously tempted to join North Melbourne as a free agent.

The West Coast star is yet to officially announce his decision but AFL.com.au understands he is in the process of informing people that he will re-sign with the Eagles.

The dual All Australian delayed a decision on his future until after the season as he grappled with remaining with the Eagles or moving to Arden St on a deal that was understood to be for seven years and worth about $8 million.

Gaff was genuinely torn between the two clubs, but ultimately his loyalty to West Coast swayed his decision.

The Kangaroos have already won commitments from Jared Polec and Aaron Hall ahead of the NAB AFL Trade Period.

Although they could yet switch their attention to another big fish this year, the Roos appear all but certain to make another huge play for GWS star Josh Kelly at the end of next season.

More to come

set to stay, it's like signing a new recruit after winning the flag and he was set to leave. Tim Kelly going there as well would be huge. Lobb etc

Shuey, Yeo, Gaff, Redden, Kelly and Sheed finally looks like a pretty good midfield. If we get Lobb to partner NN while keeping our KPPs its looking pretty sweet.

We will need it too looks like Richmond is loading up with Lynch.

Not everything makes it into the media. People still have private conversations and my source on that is impeccable.

Mate you're talking nonsense.

Every single major news outlet reporting this, hell afl.com.au is reporting that he is staying.

No credible news outlet would be saying this if it was up in the air.

Strange guy
Sick father in Melbourne.
Misses grand Final with WCE
Mrs quits job already
Massive paycut

Oh well hope for his sake they do go back to back.
We all know how unlikely that is though.

Nobody is reporting it is done at this point. The reports that came from the west were a couple of people saying they think he's changed his mind without any actual facts or quotes backing this.

Most recent reports from Melbourne today are that the reports from the West are just guesses and confirmed as such by Gaff's manager (Nick Bowen said as much on SEN)

Show me one report please that says he is confirmed as staying.

Yeah sorry mate we stole on of your players .....hang on sec ....

This is a win for footy and club loyalty .....

If we get Kelly and lobb try stopping us

Surely Kelly has some thinking to do now, it's going to be tough for West Coast to do a suitable deal with no compo pick forthcoming. That's a stacked mid field he's walking into if he does end up at the Eagles. He might be better off at the Dockers?

Knocked back an $8M offer from North? Don’t know what to think.[emoji15]
Eagles obviously very happy, particularly heading into next season with the prospect of going B2B

Dunno how WCE get the Kelly deal done now. But for north to miss out on another player like this is a massive slap in the face.
