There needs to be some acceptance in the organisation that we're no longer looking at the short term.

The list management group needs to make the calls so the MC doesn't have to. They should have made many of them at the end of 23.

I'm strongly against any short turn top up. If Stengle leaves we should bank the pick.

Nah we need a midfielder like bailey smith 100 %.

Some of the other talent is actually already on the list-apart from the obvious bruhn dempsey and clark, mannagh knevitt and humphries all look very good. And stevens and clohesy show a lot of promise. We simply need to be prepared to drop older guys and play them.

I dont think anyones celebrating its more saying its better for the side hawk transitions out now and scott never would have dropped him but him being unavailable is a blessing in disguise.

I really don’t see it as a blessing that our record holder is potential finished just because it allows to play a kid

I thought he showed a fair bit of character to keep having a crack.

He had a great '22, and got injured after that.

Not saying it'd be easy, but the fact is he's come back (to date) softer and more timid than he was.

He used to attack the contest, now he contests half-heartedly and gives little in follow up efforts.

If that's all.he can give them fair enough, quietly push him.back to the VFL. No judgement.

But don't keep playing him in the AFL because he's not at that level atm.

I dont know about "scared" but after being flogged in the ruck (never again I hope)..he fought his way back into the game and showed some grit that has been absent for a while.

He will be OK.

I will agree that his second half was a little better than his first, but he looked a very dilute version of his '22 self, and a weak version of his brother tonight.

No its not. Lack of pace is only an issue if you cant build a tank but hes a first year player without preseasons theres every indication he will get the strength and endurance. Once he does the speed wont matter. You need speed for some roles (and we lack speed in general) but not for the role he plays.

Yes and no.

The midfield is the issue for sure but our next biggest issue (apart from our inability to apply forward pressure) is our lack of transition defence between the arcs and duncan and tuohy are the worst two because they cant cover the ground at speed defensively.
Mannagh and knevitt must come in because thr former has the speed to apply pressure and the latter has the big tank to fill holes defensively.

Mitch Duncan is (while cooked in most people's eyes) the 2nd highest ball winner at Geelong in 2024.
A pathetic indictment on the midfield group. You want Mannagh and Knevitt. Fine by me.

Punt Atkins, Blicavs, Bowes, Clark, Bruhn (when fit), Parfitt (when played).
Can I make this crystal clear if your name is in the bolded section I value you as lowest contributors among those getting games, except for MOC and Mullin who are somehow worse.

No name you give me will go out of the side in my eyes before some or most of those bolded. Knevitt and Mannagh can play instead of Bowes, Blicavs, Atkins etc for all I care.

I did not see that at all. I thought he played with aggression, he just got beaten by a better ruckman.

It's not surprising, TDK has been a professional ruck his whole career. SDK a ruckman here or there.
