Some observations:

Neagle, Daniher will both be stars.

Watson IS a freaking star and anyone who disagrees knows nothing.

Nicholls is a ____.

Lloyd NEEDS to stay in a god damn goal square. Tie a 50mt bungee cord on him or SOMETHING. Just keep him there.

We look for the handball option FAR too much. Every time we get the ball outside of goal range our first instinct is to look for someone to handball it too.

I hate Matthew Nicholls.

We can't kick in for shit.

We need to learn to man up.

Our defensive pressure is nonexistent excluding Alwyn Davey and Jay Neagle.

We never lead or create options further up the ground.

Our skills are nonexistent.

We're shit.

As a Port supporter I was impressed with the big number 1, I watched the game without sound so I'm not sure if it is Neagle or not but either way that kid is a terrier and works as hard as I've seen a big bloke work, and he'll be a good footballer.

Ultimately I thought you guys played pretty well though, with all the player that you had out I thought the majority of your bigger names stood up and at times were more than competitive. You guys are definately on the right track anyway.

Terrible effort. I think we all know what we did wrong, so i'll just give some player reviews.

Mcphee Good game. Tried his guts out all evening. Gave away way too many freekicks, but his effort cant be questioned

Myers Shanked a couple of kicks which were lucky enough to land safely. Doesnt know what defensive pressure is. A few times he just jogged behind a Port player who was running with the ball. Needs to work on this.

Neagle Great game. Should have had 4 goals, but missed 2 sitters. I reckon he will stay in the side atleast until Lucas returns. Gee Kelvin, if only he wasnt so fat...

Lloyd Back to form, and about time. Did some good things, but he needs to impose himself on contests more.

Johns Best game he has played for a while. He had 1 goal kicked on him, from the dubious 50m penalty. He was one player who was willing to kick long to a contest instead of trying to invent something with a dinky kick or a handball. We need more of it.

Mal Good game. He was a great pickup for us.

Houli Great in the guts, just needs to trust his kicking a bit more.

Monfries Terrible game. I couldnt count how many times he turned the ball over or put another Bomber under pressure. He should be dropped IMO.

Stanton Still has no defensive side to his game. Put simply, he is lazy.

Dyson Wasnt too bad. He was on Rodan and Surjan throughout the game. Neither had any real impact on the game. Needs to kick it more though, his kicking in infinitely better than his handball decision making.

I think you're being particulary harsh on Monfries, Dyson and Stanton were far worse... I don't recall either of those two on the bottom of any packs!

Yes, he needs to put plenty of beef on but he still puts his head down and attacks the ball... more than I can say for more than half our players, no one wants to do the hard work to get the ball, they'd prefer someone else to get it so they get a soft possession.

I admit Monfries did turn it over occassionally, but I thought his 24 possessions (9 contested) was quite a good effort, I just hope he plays more time in that in-and-under position for which he had played fleeting minutes in other games thus far! He's a far better long-term option than Watson in that position.

All I see is Essendon players flat footed around stoppages waiting for the handpass out whereas the opposition run in waves, one long kick into the forward line and they work far less for their goals.

It's a bit hard for Watson to execute good skills when he's constantly being jumped on by 4 opposition men.

When Watson went off for a break Port obliterated us out of the middle and kicked about 5 goals in 4 minutes. Coincidence? I think not.

Nash was awful all game. Don't see how his place in the team is guaranteed each week.

i would like to see knights give players a chance to settle in one position..
he is constantly mixing things around even when he doesnt need to. must be very frustrating for some of the younger players out there

When Watson went off for a break Port obliterated us out of the middle and kicked about 5 goals in 4 minutes. Coincidence? I think not.

I don't recall 4 opponents being on him when he coughed up that handpass in the centre of the ground in the 1st quarter? We had the run, he stopped, didn't take the first option and handpassed it straight into the arms of PA and they rammed it home!

I laughed at how poor it was!

Nash was awful all game. Don't see how his place in the team is guaranteed each week.

His replacements are all injured would be my guess.

And it's starting to piss me off.
