Gary Lyon - on MMM tonight

Just listening to the pre game of Friday night football and Gary Lyon has said a couple of things that has really p1ssed me off.

Did anybody else hear it??

- Firstly, over the past few weeks on radio and TV he has dug his boots into Carlton, about our list and performance. Tonight on the radio they were talking about WestCoast, an he jumped in and said that we need to give them time to readjust, they have a bunch of young kids who need to find their feet, but they will come good.
Ummm..Gary, Carlton are the youngest listed team, but you kick us while we are down with nothing positive to say!!!

- Secondly, the boys were talking to Gary Davis from Sportsbet, and either Brayshaw or Gary brought up the odd for the spoon and Gary asked if any money had come Carltons way...Davis confirmed a few big bets had and then Gary said...'i don't want to bring it up, but there is this tanking thing'
Ummm....Gary are you aware that you are showing your bias against Carlton again...and are you opening the tanking debate again??

I like Gary Lyon as a football personality, but I don't like him as a critic (the list is growing). He's entertaining, but honestly, outside of Melbourne, he goes by newspapers and 'inside sources', and generally doesn't have a clue.

Gary Lyon is not an idiot, I do actually respect most of the stuff that comes out his mouth, the only reason he is doing this to our mighty club is to create headlines. Headlines that don't involve his club melbourne are good headlines in his opinion. Melbourne are very much worse off than our club, on and off the field. As long as the blowtorch is not pointing towards melbourne he is happy, and i do believe he is using his media work to do exactly that. The problem i have with him is that i don't think he is being honest to us and himself, he is compromising his own beliefs to help out his club, and if he can do that and sleep well at night then maybe i have lost some respect for him. For me time will tell, i am not going to burn him just yet. Lets face it clubs have been waiting decades and decades to see us on our knees and sink the boots into us, the problem for them is that we will rise again and we will not forget all the shit we have gone through to get back to where we belong.
