You just have to look at some of the ridiculous long-term mega-bucks deals offered by clubs - that already some of them are trying to extract themselves from - to understand how we're fine with the cap.

There's been talk that Clohesy might be interested in moving on if he feels he won't get regular AFL time next year.

Knevitt's been resigned for another season, and seems to have been picked ahead of Clohesy (and Clark and Stevens) when a spot is available, so that perhaps shows our thinking.

Potentially Marshall and Worpel ins.

With a few possible retirements or moving ons, and the feeling this is a weaker draft, not sure how much more turnover of the existing list there will be. A few VFL guys got a taste at AFL this season so would be backing themselves to keep pushing into 2026.

Let the other teams battle it out to pay $2m contracts for the likes of Butters, Reid etc going forward as we sign the likes of Worpel and Marshall for 'unders' and still have toom in cap to do the same again next year.

Duncan done. Guthrie body is cooked hes done. Bews will be delisted (maybe someone picks him up). Stanley probably retires if we win the flag and Marshall comes but if we can't get a ruck in he might stay.
Wiltshire probably goes and guys like Stevens ivisic and like are 50/50.
We will upgrade mullin and keep him. We could do the same with clohesy but for his own sake he needs a club where he gets games. I reckon we trade him somewhere for pick 90 to help him get that.

Talk of SDK to St Kilda is starting to gain a few legs on our board.

Would be pretty strange IMHO given our lack of depth in tall backs, and the fact he should be “set and forget” for us for a decade…

I guess if Geelong are going to target some names being linked to them this year, if there aren't good picks to offer then it'd have to be quality players.

The serious names apparently on our radar this year though are a free agent and a 30 year old ruck. Hardly a stretch when holding your whole draft hand

Geelong will trade marshall for a 1st and 2nd, worpel as an FA, match mellor late and a couple of junk picks.

We dont need big currency until next year as Butters isnt moving until then.
