Do you understand what the word "history" means?

Big difference between potential and someone that has actually achieved something.

kthx - is that the lingo with the kids these days?

POTP

King may have an AA and B&F's to his name, but that is very much acient history.

To suggest that because of these he is even close to Hamish McIntosh (or ever will be again) as suggested by the original poster, is just ridiculous.

No, it's not ridiculous at all. A couple of injury riddled seasons does not make him a leper. Obviously he is not at the level he would like right now, but who are you to say he could not be as good as he was 3 or 4 years ago?

We'll just see if he gets a few games, shall we? Hopefully one against the Roos :)

Ha. Hamish will knee him in the face at the first bounce, smash it forward 15 metres, laugh at King, grab the footy from his own tap and kick it forward, all while still laughing at the big girl.

We'll see how he does on the weekend then hey?

Against Richmond? Wait for the Crows..or even better, match him up against Hamish in Round 20. That would be fun.

.......Good luck with that

I don't know, Hamish needs to lift his game to get anywhere near King at his best. Needs to get 218 more hitouts in the next 5 games to get his average up towards Kingys, and needs to lay 35 odd more tackles. And more than double his goals.

You're a bit fond of Hamish aren't you?..

If this is some weird Geelong ploy to work out whether I'm gay or not, stop there sunshine.

I'll watch with interest when Steven King comes back into senior footy against the rucking goliath that is Angus Graham this weekend. If he doesn't dominate, he should never, ever, play AFL footy again. Steven King sums up what was wrong with the old, pre-best team in the comp and flag contender, Geelong.

What? Injuries?

Firstly, I don't usually have 'ploys' so no.

Secondly, how many players 'dominate' in their first game back after being injured for over half a season? Remember, Bennie 'The Hulk' Cousins wasn't injured.

****ing hell, it is like someone just threw a big chunky chip in the middle of a swarm of seagulls.

So let me get this straight - are you red nuts now saying that King is better than Hamish McIntosh?

whoa...

Define better. If you mean a better football player then yes (given what he's done). Obviously your bloke is having a good season but one good season makes a good player not.

I didn't read it that way.

We're saying King has some credits in the bank, and we would like him to get a chance to compete.

But you honestly believe he has a chance of becoming better than Hamish McIntosh?

sorry but did king get AA in his first full season because with hamish's form he will be.

and sorry to say there is alot more potential for hamish compared to what king was. He also grabs the ball and uses it well like another midfielder he isn't all about hit outs which mean nothing if they arent effective.. mind u he does win his fair share?

granted king has a good career

Becoming better? They're at opposite ends of their careers. You'll get another 10 years + from McIntosh and we'll probably get the rest of this season and perhaps next year tops out of King.

Exactly and if McIntosh is performing at an 8 at the moment, King will have surpised the football world if he even gets close to a 6.

The comparison is ridiculous, as is saying King has accomplished more than a 22 year old who has played 35 games.

The comparison is ridiculous I can agree on, but saying King has accomplished more than McIntosh is fact (simply due to the fact about where they are in their respective careers). Why are we talking about McIntosh again?

You didn't see Steven King play, did you?

It's McIntosh's 3rd year in the system. He played 17 games last year. If he wins the AA starting ruck spot, it has been a bad year for ruckmen.
