The comparison is ridiculous I can agree on, but saying King has accomplished more than McIntosh is fact. Why are we talking about McIntosh again?

Of course it is fact. Irrelevant fact right now - talk about it at his testamonial.

We are talking about McIntosh because some knob intimated that due to an AA 7 years ago King is better than any ruckman on North's list.

Ridiculous.

What? Injuries?

No.

Gutless, un-comitted, flighty, half decent when we feel like it sooks.

If I haven't said it on this thread, I'll say it again. Geelong are the best team in the comp, with the best structure and attitude. Geelong are ruthless bastards. Ruthless bastards win flags.

But stuff that, let's select Steven King!!!

You really have trouble with the English language don't you.

What Lunchlady Doris said was that he was more credentialed than any ruckman on your list. If you don't understand the difference, go and ask Mummy and Daddy for a dictionary.

How is Steven King any of those?

did i ever say upset at ur winning streak?

one of your geelong buddies tries to devalue the starting AA ruckmen spot if hamish wins, yeah right.

yes he has been in the system for a bit but id say its been worth the wait, like they say most big men take awhile to develop.

I appreciate what you are saying, and a lot of cats supporters would agree with you.

I'm kind of excited to see our old captain, and a fine player, put on the No 1 jumper again.

Also, he was AA at 22, and had a better year 2 years later.

A few people have mentioned this point, but I fail to understand how King cannot play a similar role if instructed. I mean, mark...handball, it's not exactly a fine art, requiring a large degree of skill. For mine, from the times I have watched Geelong, it would seem Blake is required to play this role, because he is useless anywhere else, not because it is fundamental to their game plan. Anyone else could do the same thing is basically what I'm trying to say, including King or is Mark Blake the only ruckman going around capable of an accurate handball.

You'd think so wouldn't you, but you'd probably be surprised, dismayed even if you watch closely, at the number of players who can't hit a target from a few meters with a handball, and these are guys who have made it to the elite level.

Plus it's more then simply mark, handball as you say, it's about making the right decision, especially under pressure; if you take particular notice of Blake you'll notice how many times he ignores the first option to go to someone in a better position, so it's not quite as simple as you suggest.

And as MarkT said, Blake is no world beater - we love him, but to have another option up our sleeves is very handy. And what if Ottens or Blake have an injury (touch wood it doesn't happen). Handy to have a backup ruckman waiting in the wings and actually senior match fit.

Cheers

King's one backup, Blake's another, and you still have the big hairy Cat to fill in whatever role's required. Your depth is great.

I can't think of a better opportunity to let Kingy recapture some form than this week: at home, with heaps of support, against the worst team in the comp. Regardless of whether he's traded or kept at the end of the year it can only be of benefit. Certainly can't hurt to have a third match fit ruckman going into the finals.

I wouldn't be surprised if he had a pretty good game, which might say more about the opposition than Kingy.

Didn't see the game last night. How did McIntosh go?

Kingy was pretty serviceable, admittedly playing against nothing. No offense tiges, but there's not much there at the moment.

Cheers

I didn't see it either but I did read that Charman beat him (McIntosh). I don't think McIntosh took a hanger over an umpie either.
