I can’t believe people sit through that segment of the telecast. Tv gets canned anytime roaming Brian starts.

To be fair, I sat through it only so I could watch the press conferences. (Wish they'd do those first, and the other cr*p later, but if they did that no-one would watch the cr*p ;) )

I think it's time for a change. Ie. If it hits the post and still goes through its a goal.
Would save a lot of faffing around. Traditionalists would object.
Worth pointing out that many times it is ball hitting the padding, which is a relatively recent innovation and decreases available area between posts, so records are already skewed.

How we pot the poorest of the poor and remain ignorant to the better.

If Guthrie did his best to cost us the game, Dangerfield did too with his kicking. I understand he was out of whack, sore, whatever it may be but if you’re going to spray kicks like that the. dish it off and play the team game. Hawkins would.

Wasn’t really sure what to think of the game. Did what need to be done but hopefully over the next weeks we win by winning well and not just.

Selwood is an interesting one.. seems to be there about a bit still a shadow of his best.
With how good Dangerfield is, I can tolerate some wayward goal kicking. What is hard to accept is him ignoring team mates to instead go back and have a shot at goal which would have a very low percentage chance of going through. It's stuff like that which makes it hard to argue against the idea that Dangerfield is a little too self-obsessed with a big ego, which sometimes lets the team down. It has manifested itself in other ways before, such as him trying to break lines and then smash the ball forward rather than giving the simple handball to a player in a better place, but the decision to take that shot himself was perhaps the most obvious.

It's unfortunate because the way he earned those goals was great.

That’s what some are calling for. Am not convinced. How long has this rule been around?

Maybe a little bit, but prepared to cut him some slack at this stage of his career.

You only have to look at how Clark played in the WAFL over here as a Colt in the Seniors to realise he doesn’t lack courage
Posters saying he’s soft as butter are taking the piss especially when he’s shown great commitment already this season and put himself in danger

This kid is a jet, I’m so excited to see him in the same side as Gryan Miers 👍

There could be 100 things to talk about but if 1/100 is a negative jeez AFL fans just cannot help themselves.

We are having a good year, smile!

You do realise the name is Myer, not Myers?

Am I missing something?

Rhys needs to vary his technique more in the ruck.
He is a 200cm athletic freak so why try to wrestle and out body far bigger rucks like O’Brien and the likes of Witts and Goldy?
He needs to vary his approach and stay off and leap occasionally- just like Blitz and Sav do.
He constantly looked for the body and got tied up in the contest last night, we got slaughtered as a result
To be fair, he has done that this year and last; recent games below his best, but it could be he can't jump as easily as he could after the calf injuries, or just confidence. I am sure he has the time and support to get his mojo back.

That’s one of the things that makes great players great though. Is it selfishness or is it backing yourself to take responsibility and think that what you’re doing is going to be the right thing? Not arguing necessarily just trying to see it through his eyes.
All good players have arrogance and a willingness to back themselves. He has it in spades. Ablett has it too. Ablett’s skills are better though so it comes off more regularly

There is no place for fist quarter Guthrie in our side, insipid and weak and refused to influence the contest physically- putrid when all we needed at times was to halve the contest and stop the Crows run
Second half Guthrie was far better as others won the footy and he could use his speed and spread to get us moving- some may say brilliant some say down hill skier

:tonguewink:

Dangerfield is in that rare bracket of players who have the confidence in front of goal, but poor technique. Typically it's the opposite for most. Shame.

He either leans back on the kick, or stabs at it. Only looks comfortable at all at longer distances.

He needs to to start his run up 40m away and kick it at full sprint.

We only have ONE player I would trust to win the GF, PRELIM etc with a kick after the siren.
