I'm pretty sure with experience in midfield, wing and half forward that Smith would "sneak in". Clubs use 6+ players for midfield rotations anyway. A 23 disposal a game player who breaks the lines would've been an excellent pick up for any club.

As much as I want to get behind a Geelong supporter I don't think this is true for Brisbane, nor Geelong. He's probably pretty comfortably best 22 for both teams but I wouldn't think he's in either teams top 10.

I’m not talking absolutely superstar but there’s no way I’m taking Berry or Fletcher over Baz on a wing, and he in a half forward line is way more consistent than a Rayner or Zac Bailey. In Smith’s “down year” playing more half forward and wing in 2023 he was averaging better numbers than both of those guys are right now.

Maybe he doesn’t start over Neale, Dunkley or Ashcroft but that’s because Brisbane prioritise their starting midfield as their strength.

To say “not even Best 25 at the Lions” is batshit crazy.

Yeah I get a bit carried away, I genuinely do have animosity towards Geelong - I not trying to hide it (obviously) I cannot stand Chris Scott and having lived there for many years fair to say that contributed to my animosity, no one can argue they are a well run, successful club but doesn’t mean I can’t hate them, part of footy.

I agree that a cup distorts the opinion of team and its players. People getting up Sydney I find mind blowing, one team gets to win it all, does not mean other teams have not had brilliant year.

McLuggage got offers in the 1.3 million range from multiple clubs, he turned them all down for less than a million? Bullshit!
Rayner just re-signed long term after getting multiple clubs chasing after him, Harris Andrews signed a huge long term deal same timing.
Hipwood signed a huge deal that while not in the million range is definitely in the high end of the dollar scale.
Daniher deal was already under league investigation as Lions had to pay him enough to get Dons band 1 compensation, and band 1 is just magically now nothing?

So you can gob off all you want, you must know more than every journalist and every article written.
