Geelong rorting the system

So, it seems the serious anger is at the Dogs, GWS, and the Dees.

That's a reasonable block of clubs - is this where the pressure for the AFL to forensically audit came from?

Again though, unless someone at one of these clubs has come into info, and dumps it to the media rather than goes to the AFL with it, I still can't see this ever going public.

Dees still mad we pinched Brent Grgic

already moved well past the point of disgraceful, i daresay

Meth and coke are quite different. Do you think none of the current WC playing group are dabbling in coke on the weekends/offseason? OK.

Was Gaz using heroin during his playing days? That would have been quite difficult.

Talk about splitting hairs.

And making broad incorrect statements.

At least Eagles head coaches didn't end up living with drug dealers peddling the stuff.

Geelong fans throwing mud need to stop and have a look at their own club and players. Geelong have a clear history of welcoming and attracting players with questionable off field history with drugs. Stengle and Smith both spent time in court over it.

Matt Stokes.....hmmmmm.

Head coach......hmmmmmm.

Current star players on big contracts......
Hmmmmmm.

And these are the ones who were caught.

As do WC.

Which was my point.

Interesting turn of events since a Geelong supporter started this thread. You can almost hear the concern in the posts of Cats supporters now. Trying to keep a brave face.

maybe a little fine coming for geelong.

there is no chance of any serious issues being reported because any systemic rorting would mean they have loose than 2022 flag and a serious amount of draft picks.

the afl dont want that headline.
Agree.

The 'forensic audit' is the usual AFL soft signal that they should be fine/stripped, but we all know it will be kept snugly under the carpet, and they won't be fined/stripped.

Yep,
If they did something really bad, watch for Geelong to go quite in the trading space for a few years and lose a few players too. This appears to have happened to a few clubs now but the story is always, they are doing it because they have a problem coming, not that they went over and the AFL is forcing them behind closed doors.

Clubs are just so good with the salary cap now compared to the first 20 years of the cap.

They're not that good mate. Make finals and fail consistently. The fact that a pile of media commentators are Geelong supporters or sycophants, helps them no end with the good publicity

Most wins, 2nd most flags.

Yep, ****ing shithouse.
We should be more like Richmond of course. I can’t imagine how insulting it must being a paid up member to watch the team suck for 17 years then finally win 3 then go back to being shit for another 17 years.

Are you accusing Geelong of doping?

I knew other clubs were jealous of our sustained success but it's getting a bit creepy now.

No conflict of interest there.
Pies choked 3 times in 2011 and he still hasn’t gotten over it lol

Maybe they should bring in gun recruit and hall of fame trade week winner Adrian Dodoro to steer the ship in the right direction.

*Lose.

Yes, allowing Carlton to keep the 95' flag set that precedent.

Been batting for the Cats ITT, but from what I hear publicly and is being hinted privately they may be gone. Not ITK or anything, just voices of reason.

Sweating bullets thinking we're next.

True the Dank stuff was swept hard and fast. Bomber went to Essendon with all three of the main players for Kardinia Park, and the AFL pinned it on Albert faster than Demetriou onto an eclair.

Doubt any richmond supporters are insulted lol

As do WC.

Which was my point.

Feel free to list the players with drug convictions that have been recruited to the Eagles in the past 15 years since the Cousins era?

Eagles steer well clear of recruits with off field issues. They are one of the very few clubs who sacked senior players and let more go to clean up their back yard.

In comparison some clubs like Geelong have absolutely no qualms at all recruiting players with off field issues. No qualms at all.

Which is my point.

The Eagles seem to have a higher bar to clear regarding recruiting players with off field issues. Other clubs obviously focus on football ability only and disregard off field issues and convictions.

Why is this thread not in bay 13? Its not even speculation or a rumour of anything.

Its just made up garbage by bitter melbourne club supporters. Many of which continue to play away games against us at their home grounds. But sure, we are the ones protected by the afl.

Its only cost us about 3 flags in the past twenty years.

With finishes of 17th, 18th and 16th in the last three seasons it might be time to start recruiting guys who can play football again.

I don't think you'll find an AFL club that doesn't have their players partaking in coke from time to time.
