Geelong rorting the system

Make astute decisions and your club will reap the rewards as well.

Trading for list plodders like Ratugolea, Soldo, Finlayson, Lukosius, Zerk-Thatcher, Watts, Fantasia is simply poor list management.
No. down to development and coaching. You could say the same about every club. Things are changing for the better at Alberton for sure. On many fronts.

Then stop making up garbage about Geelong getting hand out's if you have identified the development and coaching is second to none.

Plenty are tipping them still though aren’t they? Over 40% on the main board thread for GF have tipped lions.
The point is, Lions are more stacked, so are a number of other teams, yet people are saying cats are bending the cap - laughableView attachment 2437958. Some other astute poster shared this and it shows half our best 22 would not be on top dollar.
I agree its a laughable proposition, but using grand final favouritism is not a good foundation for the argument.

I don't know why BF tipping is out of odds with the rest of the world, but the Age has 12 of 14 tipping the Cats, Fox 26 of 38, betting odds appear to be about 66 / 33%. Those are not insurmountable odds, but pretty heavily favour the Cats.

While more relevant your list has flaws too. You made out like bandits on Bowes precisely because he was on top dollar, and once someone is on the list for a while their salary is not based on where they were drafted. Evidence of good selection and list management yes, but sorry, not really relevant to the point you were making.

Agree with most you say, but lions are stacked if they can make grand finals with all these injuries, I thought that is a given.

We can add a new one to the list of Geelong conspiracy theories. Apparently it all began earlier than expected, but the Richmond board are on the case:

"This all started when Geelong supporter Steve Bracks got into power"
lol.
Bracks came to power in 1999.
Cats finished 11th that year.

Then they went 5th, then 12th, then 9th.

What an impact he had!!!

The Lions have a light injury list, even a very light one. Hipwood was injured only recently, Neale still playing, Berry out as of the last game. The rest on their short injury list are easily replaceable role players.

Sorry, but unless I'm missing something that's hardly "stacked if they can make grand finals with all these injuries".

All the best tomorrow. Although I hope you lose in a tight one, to a controversial free kick after the siren.

It’s not ALL AFL fans but it’s ALWAYS the Richmond fans.

Never change cookers 😂

Only going 50 percent here ???? I said Curnow and Marshall. Interesting you are calling Marshall B grade as he is your number 1 priority.
We aren't getting Curnow so you're squealing for nothing.

Marshall is middle of the pack for AFL rucks currently. If you think he's A grade you simply have low standards. Many B graders have been important parts of successful Geelong teams.

Other seasons we have had top priorities such as Gary Rohan, Hamish McIntosh, Mitch Clark and Lachie Henderson. People like to pretend we bring in a Dangerfield every season.

Let me make an even more "stupid" comment then...

Easier to prepare for the other 13 home and away games when you can play your 10 games on the ground you train on in second gear with your eyes shut.

2025 games played by Geelong at venues other than their two home grounds, the Costa Zoo and the MCG...

Rd 2 v Saints at Marvel LOST
Rd 3 v Lions at Gabba LOST
Rd 5 v Crows at Adelaide, Crows of a 5 break WON(of course)
Rd 10 v Port at Adelaide WON
Rd 12 v Eagles at Optus WON
Rd 18 v Giants at Engie LOST
Rd 20 v North at Marvel WON
Rd 23 v Sydney at SCG WON

What a frightening array of fixtures that was away from your two home grounds where you will end up playing the other 17 matches this season.

And you still managed to lose every loseable match from the 8 above.
2nd gear with our eyes shut?

Mate we're awful at Kardinia park. Brisbane beat us by 7 goals there without even really trying

What’s interesting is that you’ve been winning with an Ammo’s grade level ruck in Stanley. He truly is the luckiest player in history and owes Scott and his teammates plenty. Marshall if you get him will be a huge improvement for the side.

I haven’t read the full thread recently but saw some posts around handouts. The only handouts Geelong has been gifted is the the state government and the pork barreling during elections to build Kardinia Park. The rest (financial management, list management, coaching, fitness…) has been exceptional management.

The matter of Scott being paid by Morris is the only black mark against them. There’s no proof of Cotton On payments so let that slide.

Good luck.

Like I said , the afl equivalent of the state of Israel
I thought you were going to delete your account if Tom Stewart ever made AA, but he's made 5 AA's now and you're still here

Does that make you the BigFooty equivalent of Donald Trump?
