Geelong to go undefeated for the rest of 2024??

You’re having comprehension issues I see , you said you didn’t care what your team was like before you were born the last spoons you had were in 2008-2009 you forget your very recent history ….hence why I brought it up

Don’t forget this all started because you think Geelong finishing 12th for the first time in the club history was something to s**t on and make fun of

Laughable really
No, you're having comprehension issues. When you ask, how many spoons have you won, that includes all spoons does it not? not just the recent spoon. So it's still irrelevant how many 'total spoons' the dees have won because the only relevant spoons are the ones in my lifetime.

Nah it's fine to finish 12th. but coming back and having the softest draw in the afl the first 6 weeks, doesn't justify the carry on.

The question was, how many spoons have we won, not when was our last spoon? Please reply to correct this oversight.

Only Geelong fans would care about spoons. It's not an even competition so you can't compare. How many flags would you have won without the benefits of the father/son? It'll never be an even comp.
With the current rules Father/Son would've lost us James Kelly in the Ablett year and we would've missed out on one of Hawkins and Selwood. That obviously would've hurt, but not as much as for Melbourne if they avoided being terrible the years they recruited a number of their superstars. Even with that it took so long, with so much extra assistance. The 2021 flag was absolutely gift wrapped and 5 or so finals wins is still under par from all that.

You really are not understanding things are you ? My response after your claim you don’t care about your club’s history before you were born

Hence why I responded about you being born after 2008 …showing that you are ignoring your recent history

I wasn’t responding about my original question which you didn’t answer…I was replying to your response

Is that simple enough for you or do you need another adult to explain the chain of events for you?

I have no idea what you're talking about with the 2021 flag. We have had 1 decent father/son in 20+ years. We had to win 'away' during the entire finals and we were 60-80 points better than the next best teams who we smashed in all of the finals. Literally the opposite of gift wrapped. Imagine if we had the luxury of a Hawkins at full forward with pick 43. embarrassing handout.

The carry on is opposition supporters tying themselves in knots making threads like this one. We're just enjoying the rebuilding, fallen-of-the-cliff Geelong starting the season well.

You're not understanding things. Do I care about the spoon in 2008? yes. Do I care about the total number of spoons won? no. Your question was regarding the total number of wooden spoons we won.

That said, the spoon means nothing. I don't care more about coming last or coming 13th. They're both poor.

I am saying Geelong's advantage in not having to bid for Father Sons those years (losing James Kelly and one of Selwood or Hawkins) was less than Melbourne's advantage of a supply belt of top level talent via the draft for being terrible for so long. From Paul Roos and the succession plan, priority picks, to burning top 5 picks (and probably ruining careers)...it all worked out eventually on the condition a finals series could be played in WA. 0-4 in finals at the G since then. Melbourne would've likely landed a dynasty if they could've become the Perth Demons.

Danny has a history of whinging when it comes to Geelong. The other Demons supporters I've come across are mostly sound of mind and lacking on the bitterness scale. I'm not sure if he's been ousted from the tribe but I wouldn't use him as an example for Melbourne supporters.

Ours wasn't a covid cup. Full quarters, the works. just more challengers in that we had to win away during the finals. It was also a flag that you guys tried very hard to win, did you not.
Geelong try hard to win every year.

Don’t forget all the failed F/S the club has had that no one talks …hell the Dogs have more F/S on their list than we ever had yet the troll doesn’t mention that at all

Not to mention the lack of top picks the club has had over the last 20 years if ever

I've only just realised this is the Jhye Clark guy from the other thread. That's a little reassuring.

That's just the speculative nature of drafting though. Geelong has burnt more than your fair share of first rounders so its double standards to then point the finger at us. Missing Dusty hurt. 0-4 in the finals at the G is disappointing but we've had a lot of injuries in all of those 4 finals and still almost pinched both games despite the injuries and despite poor goal kicking.

a) it's not trolling, they're my true opinions and b) I've consistently said, for many years, mentioned the dogs as being the most gifted club in terms of father/son and academy picks alongside Geelong and Brisbane.

Of course they will. they've had the softest fixture out of all 18 clubs. Stkilda, Adelaide, Hawthorn, Bulldogs, North and Brisbane. So 1 hard game. And that hard game was in torrential weather which is perfect for playing against Brisbane.

Their true test starts now.

when the fixture was released, I didnt think the cats 1st 6 or so game were easy. Brisbane were supposed to be top 4 after that narrow 2023 grand final loss.

Saints made finals in 2023, Adelaide was supposed to be on the up.

I looked at freos 1st 3 games and I dreaded having Brisbane and Crows as our 1st 2 home games as they looked to be improving or on the up.
