Nah, I don't think I'd ever write Geelong off especially with the home ground advantages which always gives you guys a good home and away finish. I still put you guys around 5th-7th personally. We won a flag two years ago …it’s not like we are cellar dwelling club that suddenly became good …that’s my point I seen posters write the club off and make every excuse under the sun as to why we are s**t despite having a good run
I seen it all before haters are going to hate
Yep those 2 home games we had so far and 9 home games a year really gives us an advantage over other clubs that get 12 home games a yearNah, I don't think I'd ever write Geelong off especially with the home ground advantages which always gives you guys a good home and away finish. you've played a bunch of bad teams this year (excluding Brisbane) so home ground advantage is irrelevant at this point. Not only is GMHBA uniquely shaped, you get to train on the ground that you play at. A luxury that many clubs don't get to have. So when you play a melbourne team it's a big advantage compared to when Melbourne teams play each other at the mcg where it's no advantage at all.Yep those 2 home games we had so far and 9 home games a year really gives us an advantage over other clubs that get 12 home games a year
Amazing insights …

We tend to play stronger sides away from Geelong and weaker ones there. The really good sides of the last decade like Hawthorn, Richmond and Collingwood in their best years have barely played there as a collective.you've played a bunch of bad teams this year (excluding Brisbane) so home ground advantage is irrelevant at this point. Wow we get to train at our home ground that we get to play on …that must be why the GC has multiple flags such an unfair advantageyou've played a bunch of bad teams this year (excluding Brisbane) so home ground advantage is irrelevant at this point. bit harsh to call us pretenders last year. lost to Collingwood by 7 points, kicking inaccurately and then to Carlton by 2 points after kicking 9.17 without our 2 main forwards out.We tend to play stronger sides away from Geelong and weaker ones there. When Sydney, Melbourne and GWS have had their stronger sides, they routinely won at GMHBA. Pretenders do get found out there and we even saw that last year with Melbourne and Port.
Teams like Port and Brisbane lose away because of mental fragility. It isn't something that only applies in Geelong because the ground is a bit more narrow.
So you just pick a team that hasn't won multiple flags and work backwards to make a point. I see right through it. You're clearly triggered for a reason I don't know. You could just admit that it's an unfair advantage but sure, argue for the sake of denialWow we get to train at our home ground that we get to play on …that must be why the GC has multiple flags such an unfair advantage
Lots of teams don’t get to train at the MCG and face a hostile crowd and still do wellbit harsh to call us pretenders last year. lost to Collingwood by 7 points, kicking inaccurately and then to Carlton by 2 points after kicking 9.17 without our 2 main forwards out.
it's hard to win away in Geelong. distorted ground, noise of affirmation with umps, plus don't get to train on it . Even in 2021, we basically lost, until a kick after the siren. its a tough venue
You missed the point but not suprising if you’re going to troll do a better jobSo you just pick a team that hasn't won multiple flags and work backwards to make a point. I see right through it. exactly. that's why it makes it unfair that Geelong gets to. This thread is about Geelong. It's unfair, bottom line. You should have to play all your home games at the mcg like everyone elseLots of teams don’t get to train at the MCG and face a hostile crowd and still do well
Stop making silly excuses
dude. u came 12th...Geelong have had a piss easy draw for the best part of twenty years by never having to play Geelong.
Geelong has a notoriously sleepy crowd that is mocked by opposition fans: the knitting crew.bit harsh to call us pretenders last year. lost to Collingwood by 7 points, kicking inaccurately and then to Carlton by 2 points after kicking 9.17 without our 2 main forwards out.

How many spoons do you have again? Refresh my memorydude. u came 12th...
It's Geelong you stupid, ignorant fool. They are not a suburb of Melbourne so they have maintained a home ground not in Melbourne. Any unfair advantage is balanced by playing considerably less than every other side plays at their home ground and not getting finals there. Geelong win games because Geelong has been good. Last year when Geelong wasn't so good - they lost 3 times in Geelong. So you just pick a team that hasn't won multiple flags and work backwards to make a point. I see right through it. what a weird thing to bring up. wouldn't have a clue. Nor do I care about what my team was like before I was even born..oddHow many spoons do you have again? Refresh my memory
You were born after 2008? That explains things very wellwhat a weird thing to bring up. wouldn't have a clue. Nor do I care about what my team was like before I was even born..odd
I guess my pretender theory is based on predicting Melbourne to do no damage in finals the previous two seasons and seeing it play out. Deeply inefficient sides tend to struggle in finals and it's hard for a group to win multiple flags without a fairly strong forward line.bit harsh to call us pretenders last year. lost to Collingwood by 7 points, kicking inaccurately and then to Carlton by 2 points after kicking 9.17 without our 2 main forwards out.
Love the name calling. classy. At least you admitted it was an advantage. It's not hard to admit the obvious. The dees train in Cranbourne which probably takes just as long to get there as it would to get to Geelong. A common challenge that other clubs have to face that don't get the luxury of training at home. It's Geelong you stupid, ignorant fool. The question was, how many spoons have we won, not when was our last spoon? Please reply to correct this oversight. You were born after 2008? That explains things very well
Geelong last “wooden spoon” finish was back in the 1950’s for references
The lowest finish in our history. What about the other 15-20 seasons though? Geelong's biggest advantage is not having to play against Geelong.dude. u came 12th...
You’re having comprehension issues I see , you said you didn’t care what your team was like before you were born the last spoons you had were in 2008-2009 you forget your very recent history ….hence why I brought it upThe question was, how many spoons have we won, not when was our last spoon? Please reply to correct this oversight.
Only Geelong fans would care about spoons. It's not an even competition so you can't compare. How many flags would you have won without the benefits of the father/son? It'll never be an even comp.
