Particularly when the pubs all close so early and then there's no public transport to clear them out of townI honestly think it would have been a bad situation for the locals of Geelong if this one was scheduled at Kardinia.
Our ground currently fits 22k, let's say 15,000 are Cats supporters. That would have left 70,000 Collingwood supporters at the local pubs and that would have been a recipe for disaster.
2022 Geelong minor premier - disadvantageThe same is always said when a match-up is between two vic teams.
2018 Tigers minor premier and unlucky that Hawthorn were 4th = no advantage.
Then in 2018 PF, minor Premier Tigers unlucky that up against Collingwood = no advantage.
The advantage / disadvantage of having 10 teams from one State is a s**t load of neutral games.
Finals in the VFL have always been neutral games.
Geelong just started a regular sook fest under C.Scott, now thinking they are entitled to finals at Cat Park...never been the case.
Pies supporters wouldn't know where Geelong is, it's been so long since they had the balls to play us there. The ones who are still alive probably don't get weekend trips from the old persons home.Particularly when the pubs all close so early and then there's no public transport to clear them out of town

Would be like posting a post from Falcon and saying, "Richmond supporters am I right...."Ill just leave this here for the pies fans. An article from when the Geelong fans complained they felt threatened by loud barracking.
BTW the afl found no issues.

Went through there once, couldn't believe it, is it where Melbourne send all the homeless?Pies supporters wouldn't know where Geelong is, it's been so long since they had the balls to play us there. The ones who are still alive probably don't get weekend trips from the old persons home.
Good one, let me know when you’re going to tell your next joke so I can strap myself in.I was wondering when you were gonna get sick of yelling at clouds old man.
"But despite the obvious wealth, the last census in 2016 documented nearly 25,000 people experiencing homelessness in the state of Victoria, most of them in the capital Melbourne. And for those like Phil who end up sleeping on the streets, Melbourne is far from liveable.1 Aug 2021"Went through there once, couldn't believe it, is it where Melbourne send all the homeless?
Oh, you're back. What irrelevant shit do you want to bang on about this time?Good one, let me know when you’re going to tell your next joke so I can strap myself in.
I don't live in Melbourne."But despite the obvious wealth, the last census in 2016 documented nearly 25,000 people experiencing homelessness in the state of Victoria, most of them in the capital Melbourne. And for those like Phil who end up sleeping on the streets, Melbourne is far from liveable.1 Aug 2021"
Nah, you pricks just pretend they don't exist while you claim to be the most liveable city in Australia.
Why are you asking me about Melbourne's homeless? Or Geelong? I don't live in either.I don't live in Melbourne.
But I have been to Geelong once, Melbourne may be crap, but Geelong jeeze, I think I remember they were paying people to try coax them to come live there, what a dump.
When I was in Geelong it seemed like every 2nd person was homeless, so I asked the question, sorry if it upset you.Why are you asking me about Melbourne's homeless? Or Geelong? I don't live in either.
I've been to Gippsland though, not sure you can point fingers.
I can bang on about something irrelevant like having a final between Geelong and Collingwood played at Kardinia in front of half a crowd. Won’t happen, even if it were Hawthorn or St Kilda it wouldn’t happen, the best you could hope for would be Marvel.Oh, you're back. What irrelevant s**t do you want to bang on about this time?
It didn't upset me - you seem to think I have some vested interest in the township. When I was in Geelong it seemed like every 2nd person was homeless, so I asked the question, sorry if it upset you.
Oh you don't like Gippsland, I love it, so bad luck and i'll point my finger when ever I want thank you very much.
If I let him go, he will wear himself out.I can bang on about something irrelevant like having a final between Geelong and Collingwood played at Kardinia in front of half a crowd. Won’t happen, even if it were Hawthorn or St Kilda it wouldn’t happen, the best you could hope for would be Marvel.
But why not play at the G, it’s where you need to play to win the Premiership.
Always need to have the last say? Who is arrogant you say?If I let him go, he will wear himself out.
I thought you were going for a lie down?Always need to have the last say? Who is arrogant you say?
Oh so you get off by calling people inbred hicks do you?It didn't upset me - you seem to think I have some vested interest in the township.
Gippsland is fine. Beautiful country. But the inbred hicks...
Well being inbred is a familial choice. Being homeless isn't. Seemed the right thing to do seeing as you were dragging homeless people for fun.Oh so you get off by calling people inbred hicks do you?
Sounds like those so called inbred hicks would be better people than you are then.
I asked you an easy question, you said it didn't upset you, but it seems then, insults just flow no matter what.
Might be a good idea if you moved to Geelong, they might teach you some manners.
I asked you a serious question, and you go on a tirade about how shit Melbourne is how Gippslanders are inbred, seriosly mate, have you been dropped from a hight recently, it sounds like you may have hurt something.Well being inbred is a familial choice. Being homeless isn't. Seemed the right thing to do seeing as you were dragging homeless people for fun.
Do go on.I asked you a serious question, and you go on a tirade about how s**t Melbourne is how Gippslanders are inbred, seriosly mate, have you been dropped from a hight recently, it sounds like you may have hurt something.
Nah, I've heard enough, say what you like about Collingwood supporters, but I just showed you are worse than any i've met.Do go on.
It would be 'ideal' for an AFL qualifying final to be played in front of 35,000 people instead of a sell-out MCG? Hmm.In a fair and ideal world this game should be held at KP but in typical AFL fashion they put revenue before fairness.
Having said that, im glad the AFL are corrupt on this matter and cant hep but say suck s**t to Geelong, the melts when Collingwood send you the long way 'round and head on into a Prelim against Melbourne also at the G will be delicious.
Wrong. Its the best shape of ground. One of the few that is actually good for football. Short grounds with wide Wings result in boring circle work and side way chipping. Long thin grounds turn football back into a game of yardage. The way it was meant to be played before all the players got super fit. Much harder to flood an area of the field if you have to run an extra 15 metres up and down the field each time to do it.
the mcg needs to be extended by about 15 metres and the wings brought in by about 15 metres. It would make afl a far more enjoyable and riveting game to watch.
but all this is for another thread.
