Everyone who follows AFL apart from Geelong supporters. You keep saying ‘you want to lock x-amount of people out of the game’ or whatever - who does? One person on a forum who has no connection to the club?
I was thinking about this this morning.Agree
I welcome playing the Pies week 1
We have a storied recent modern history v Pies finals
Look forward to it

Blame your club for not having a better stadium. It's really not that hard is it? Just build a bigger stadium. It will make a mockery of the competition if the clear competition leader is playing its home final in front of 75 thousand screaming pies fans at the ground the pies play 15 games at each season when the pies finished fourth.
we can not have a repeat of the ridiculous 2017 finals series.
surely the competition has moved beyond the amateurish of playing finals where crowds are highest at the expense of fairness. Other professional sports do not do this.
note the grand final is a little different because there are no home sides in a grand final and the crowds arent heavily biased to mcg tenants due to fans travelling and all the neutral fans. So please dont bring grand final arguments into this thread as its not equivalent.
play the game at either kardinia and if thats not possible (it is) then play at least docklands.
for the sake of the competition.
It would be like Damien Hardwick complaining about playing a home game at Marvel.Geelong complaining about playing a final at their 2nd home ground reeks of looking for excuses before the inevitable.
Everyone who follows AFL apart from Geelong supporters.
Not really as the MCG is Geelong's home ground as well as Kardinia Park.It would be like Damien Hardwick complaining about playing a home game at Marvel.
Matthews certainly thinks it cost them.It was unfair but I don’t buy that.
You’re professional footballers and one of the greatest groups of them ever assembled. If you’re not used to a bit of travel by that stage of your journey as a team you never will be
It doesnt have to be part of it. Just because its the way it has been done doesnt mean it should continue. It should be at the G.
As the home team Geelong should get a preferred fixturing time.
Looking forward to it.
There is an argument that when KP holds > 40k then it gets week 1 or 2 finals. (Same with Docklands)
It is true that MCG tenants can have relative mediocrity rewarded in these scenarios but I guess that's just part of it all.
I don't care, you can't change it, and people are sick of Geelong supporters and Chris Scott whinging.I’ll ask again.
Who is it you’re addressing that is advocating for playing this game in Geelong.
So far I count one person on an Internet forum and a couple of others who have pointed out that fairness says we should but that it’s not realistic so who cares.
It doesnt have to bevpart of it. Just bevause its the way it has been done doesnt mean it shouod continue.
Does that not already happen with WBD, Saints, North etc?Give us Marvel home finals and I may agree.
Why is 50k a limit? Thats still 50k less then the mcg.If kardinia can hold 50k then I’m all for it.
What’s the current capacity?
I don't care, you can't change it, and people are sick of Geelong supporters and Chris Scott whinging.
You get the softest fixture in the league every year and you still complain.
The OP's opening whinge got 2 likes, 41 Ha Ha's, 5 disagrees and 6 sarcastic loves.
If you're good enough to win the flag you'll win it.
You don't have to play any interstate games this final series.
You can't rely on getting cheap wins at Kardina Park to win you a flag.
Matthews certainly thinks it cost them.
That final would have been a much easier win at home you would think.
What’s the current capacity? Why is 50k a limit? Thats still 50k less then the mcg.
finals grounds are not about maximising crowds. If so most interstate finals would also be at the mcg.
its about fairness. But no one complains about fairness when it only negatively impacts one team. They just call that team sooks.
im guessing everyone will suddenly realise that geelong has been treated unfairly and it must end when gold coast earns a home final against brisbane. That will be the day this bias against geelong in finals ends. Bookmark it.
Except kardinia park is not geelongs secondary ground. Its the only ground in its home city. Hawthorn and bulldogs are melbourne teams. The reason Geelong don't play finals at Kardina Park is the same reason why Hawthorn don't play finals at York Park or the Western Bulldogs don't play finals at Eureka Stadium, it's simply a secondary ground and not suitable for finals
5000.What’s the current capacity?
Yeah that’s not viable.5000.
So you're happy to play at the G next week. What are we arguing about then?I can’t change it?
That’s a relief after the 0 times I’ve advocated for it to be changed.
Does that not already happen with WBD, Saints, North etc?
If not, why not?
