Geelong's record in finals under Chris Scott

He was being facetious mate.

Fremantle went 1-1 in finals this season for a percentage of 50.
Collingwood went 1-2 for a percentage of 33.

Ergo by the logic of some of the forum users on the dirt-diet, fremantle must be a better side than Collingwood because of their higher finals win percentage
That 2022 semi final.... Dockers only lost by 20 points.

I will say this... Looking back at it.

Glad how the dockers 2022 finals campaign panned out.

Happy to get a home Elim final win and lose in an away semi final.

Had we got 4th, Geelong would of belted the dockers at MCG . Dockers then would be likely to lose to swans or magpies in Perth in a semi final.

Could be looking at our last finals win still being the 2015 qualifying final vs the swans. That's a good 10 years.

Geelong has another grand final

Let's start with one top four finish with an outstandingly talented list. Baby steps.
Beveridge hasn't had the cattle, our list during his tenure really hasn't been that great. He's done well to keep us in finals contention.
Bevo the genius worked out you can't lose finals from 9th.
Remember how bad we were when Beveridge arrived? We had just lost Griffen, Cooney and Higgins and were destined to spend a lengthy period of time near the bottom of the ladder.

We've been told ad nauseam Footscray's list is so good Bailey Smith couldn't crack the midfield, but that discard is Geelong's best player, or close enough to it.

I remember that in the 3 previous drafts you’d picked up Marcus Bontempelli, Jake Stringer, Jack Macrae, Lachie Hunter and Jason Johanissen.

Chris Scott wouldn't even be in the top 5 coaches of the 21st century

Beveridge has a better finals win percentage than Scott, despite Scott having far better playing lists to work with over the years.
Can't have a bad finals record if you aren't playing finals. Few coaches getting around who have never lost a finals game.

Can’t do much when you’ve got potatoes like Shannon Neale that o Sullivan campaigner is a potato and ocean mullet probably the worst footballer of all time
I reckon O'Sullivan is one of their good ones! Young, Geelong-drafted and will grow up bleeding the hoops.

It's the stars they keep trading in that end up the problem in finals.

When your captain gets 10 touches, then gets up and laughs and says 'We don't celebrate 2nd enough'

There's your problem.

But this is the Chris Scott model. Will he ever change?

And we all know 2011 was Bomber and Dank.
massive question marks on 2011, but it's immaterial to this thread, Chris Scott himself admitted he had nothing to do with 2011, they were on autopilot with Bomber's system.

He has one premiership he rightly wholly claims, which is 2022, vs. Longmire's Sydney

Seems he has blamed the sub rule in his press conference, which is bizarre, since it allows you to cover for an injury. if Cameron had one. I think he was really expressing frustration at himself and his medical team at not making the right call

His "coaching genius" often relies on generationally good players (who've happened to waltz from other clubs to Geelong and mysteriously all fit under the salary cap) to win games by themselves. So stands to reason he puts that ahead of the players health. Second time in recent years Cameron has not been taken off for a HIA after a big head knocks as well.
