WW - that telecast was nothing short of a disgrace.

On top of all the things you mentioned, at times in the play we viewers had no fkg idea where the ball was - thanks to shocking camera work. That amateurish shot of O'Loughlin shooting for goal in the 1st quarter, I think it was, taken from the full length of the ground away, beats everything i've ever seen before.

All we saw was a red ant in the distance - O'Loughlin - and no chance of seeing the ball from that range.

For all our complaints about Eddie Everywhere, Channel 9 p*ss all over 10 in the camera work department.

Ch 10 treat us in footy with the same contempt they treat viewers of their reality shows, by dishing up B grade crap immersed in ads.

In the pre-match build up, Huddo was talking to the guy who runs the telecast and decides what shots and cameras would be used. He said for a normal match they use 16 cameras. He said for the GF they would use 33 cameras....********ed if I know where they were....they certainly weren't in the changeroom after the game!

Talking about Choco I nearly wet myself at one of Sheedy's comments re Choco shown on Ch 10 on the last 24 hours.

They asked Sheedy what he thought about Choco saying that Port were interested in Mark Johnson.

Sheedy's reply was "Mark says a lot of things. Perhaps he should have pulled that tie a bit tighter." :D
I missed that. Good ol Sheeds.
Some of his comments will be sadly missed once he retires. :D

Would you have been happy with a blowout or knowing the result by half or 9 quarter time/
...
So games are blowouts unless you flood?
Bet you must have loved that famous St Kilda Vs Swans game a few years back then.

EDIT: Just read on the main board where someone posted something like:
"If this had been a normal H&A game I would have switched it off at half time".
Not sure if I would have switched it off, but certainly wouldn't have been watching it as keenly as I did since it was a GF.

I thoguht the worst thing about the telecast was the fact that they had a 5 minute ********ing ad break after the match when all the celebrations were going on.

What did people think of Fosdike's game? Thought he had a top game and really got under West Coast's radar.........
I thought he was VERY good yesterday. He started on the bench and when ever he came on he had an impact, found the footy, carried it a fair bit and I can't remember him wasting a possesion. Played a very good game. Probably his best for the season.

Named as Swans best in the paper and I think I'd agree.

Was wishing we had the 2 SA boys as I thought Crouch did a good job on Judd, whose hurt factor was small, unlike last week.

Stiffy you were wrong?!

Maybe Rocket knew what he was doing when he took the Dike so early. ;)

But the clearances!!! Won't someone think of the clearances!!!

Seriously though, I'm glad someone else thinks so.

All this talk that yesterday's performance validates him as the premier player in the comp is just ridiculous. Yeah he was good, but no better.

One think that was REALLY obvious to me yesterday was that Eagles' midfielders don't have clean hands in close. They are not that good in traffic where Sydney are UNBELIEVABLE. If anyone gets a chance to watch the game again, WC ruckman try to knocks the ball into space for Judd, Cousins, Kerr and Fletcher to run onto, where as swannies like to bring it down in close where they scrap it out and get it out of congestion. Eagles midfield was a class below Swans midfield in this area of the game.

If Eagles midfielders can improve in this area of their game over the pre-season, they would be just about unbeatable in there. Swans hands in close were gold.

Has there been a more valuable GF decoy than Nick Davis?

At that last stoppage all eyes were on him... but up steps Amon Buchanan and HERE IT IS!
The funny thing is that it was exactly the same set play Swans used against Geelong and it was executed in exactly the same way except that it was Buchanan instead of Davis to do the finishing. WC players were too Davis focused on that play and let another swans player do the damage.

Old Bball play there I think stiffy ;)

but it wasn't. that's the point. no one would be talking about Staker, or Barry if it were just a H/A game.

It was a good game, not a great game. Like most Sydney games, you know the game will go down to the wire because of the boring football they play. You're obviously not going to see alot of goals when every second disposal is directed to the boundary. So the last 5-10 minutes of a Sydney game is always going ot be exciting, provided you can stay awake that long.

As for the celebrations, where Ports were at times grotesque, Sydneys are corny. If I hear "Captain Couragous" say "the bloods" one more time i'm going to be sick. And yes Kennelly, I think we know by now you're an Irishmen. And yes we know the Irish can drink and are a quirky bunch, but they haven't been spared their fair share of wa*kers, as you have so clearly shown.
