Could possibly be an all Sydney final. Get ready for the why do we have to play at the MCG narrative, Melbournians.

Just as an aside I would love to see top four teams that get a second chance have to play the qualifying final away. So by virtue of the fact that Adelaide won and Sydney lost they would have played at the Adelaide Oval. Just gives ladder positions 5-8 a better glimpse.

Surely you are joking with that idea. You would tank to finish in the bottom half of the 8.

I'll be rooting for the Dogs next week.
Bring on trade week.
You may be 'rooting for the dogs' but not me.
They could be playing the Taliban and i still wouldnt support them.

Theres another word that starts with F which means the same as rooting.
I hope that happens to the Dogs :p

They should have a playoff for third like the Olympics.

Get the 2 PF losers to play as a curtain raiser on GF day. That should give dogs supporters something to look forward to for years to come.

In fact, they could carve their own little niche.

The quicker GWS start wining flags, the quicker the AFL will wake up to the monster they have created.

Like removing a band aid. Let's get it done quickly and move on.

Unfortunately I think it's going to be a lot more painful for a lot longer!
And I don't think the AFL cares. It's all $$$$

Well I hope you are wrong this coming week. Go WB.

I would truly just be happy to see someone other than hawks, swans, cats, eagles win.
GWS winning would be a hollow feeling even for their own players and supporter I would think given it would have been handed to them on a paper plate.
So for me that leaves the dogs this year, even though as a neutral I have very little interest at this point.

The thought of a GWS Sydney GF does have some level of evil anticipation from me. Only just to hopefully see a half empty mcg and lowest ratings ever.

Its a GF. It could be Ormond playing Kew and they would fill it if people thought it was an AFL GF. And the best rating over Australia would be GWS versus Sydney. That's logical.

Not the Saints so couldn't give a flying **** who wins. Probably won't even watch the game.

Tipping Sydney.

Any saints supporter should be cheering gws on. Quicker they win one. The quicker we can get some of those top lone kids home - especially if the players get their way and free agency goes from 8 to 6 years next year.

100%

See, notwithstanding banter, etc, I will always love seeing one of the poorer teams sticking it right up the silver spoons. I was cheering for the Doggies on Friday, unashamedly.

Any time us, the Dogs, Kangas, Port, and these days the Lions, get to shove it to the rich and privileged, I'm not going to mind.

Sorry man, I just don't buy that. The Sydney sides are being told they will be given a golden carpet ride to indefinite success. They will continually be given more money, more picks, more advantages, less scrutiny. Why the hell would Sheil, or anybody in their top 25, leave that? Especially once they've seen how easy the AFL makes winning a flash for them?

IF they win a flag this year... is it not job done?
Tell me, if you were Shiel and you had just won this years flag. Next year you are out of contract and there are Melbourne clubs offering you nearly double your salary to come back home. You will be closer to family, you will be able to set yourself up and you have already won a flag with GWS. Why wouldn't you then consider your personal circumstances?

With a few here, any but the Dogs. Have always been quite ok with Cats and Swans. A couple of good mates that are good/not arrogant Cats supporter mates and some strange soft spot for the Swans. Giants winning perhaps helps players asking for more. Swans have trouble with the Giants but have largely been awesome late in the year. I still think they win, but all 4 could do so. Giants and Swans I think will win. Swans turning the tables with a bigger game and less space.
