Would we all trade Kent + a first rounder for Gaff? Was a suggestion in the Gaff thread on the D&T board, I'm torn if I would or wouldn't.

As much as I love Kent ... that'd be too hard to say no to.

I'm not as sold. Means no 2016 1st and no 2017 first, forces us to pick with our 1st in 2018 & 2019. That's a huge loss of trading power.

Yeah but Gaff is one of the best wingers in the comp. Where do I sign up?

To be fair majority of the posters there shut him down pretty quickly. I did see his point in letting a team develop a player then pick him up as a low risk option, but trading any of our senior players for a rookie would be a massive mistake. I don't think the club would want ANB to go anywhere either.

The second scenario featuring Gaff for Kent + first rounder would be a win-win for both clubs. I do like Kent quite alot though

It's 2 within a 4 year period isn't it?

We used 2 in 2015, so we'd still be able to trade away 2017 and 2018 technically speaking

My exact thoughts yesterday when I saw the article.
The humidity up there, ball will be slippery as it is. Is it a far cry to suggest this could turn pear shaped?
They do look fantastic though and I like the idea

It's actually neither hot nor humid in Alice. Today at 2pm it was 21deg with 30% humidity ... Just a nice day really. Conditions were worse against the GC a few weeks back.

Agreed, its that fiasco up in Darwin that provides the crazy conditions....

If i had to live in Darwin I imagine I'd sit around drinking all day.

That would be highway robbery. Gaff is exactly what we need and as good as Kent is for our structure he is also replaceable.

I am confused if we are now talking about Dean Kent or Topkent ... because we seem to be doing fine without Topkent !

If we are talking about Dean then yes I agree he is important for our structure. Does important things without getting much of the ball..

And re Kent, no I wouldn't trade him for anything. He's Hogan's muse and it would be a bad precedent to send a WA kid home...

Not certain what the crime was but I think some lions supporters thought he was inciting violence against 18yo ducking Lions players or something. It was a complex dispute which I didn't fully understand but it certainly went pretty loud on the main board for a bit there.

If that's what it's for, then the mods can GAGF. I read all the posts about his Instagram and my boy Topkent didn't do anything worthy of an infraction let alone a ban.

No. I thought it was ridiculous too but it went into orbit for some reason and there was a mod notice later that sort of referred to inciting abuse on social media sites so I'm guessing that might have been it. For the record I thing that might have been one of the looniest threads I've read on the main board for a while.

The main board is pretty ****ing lame. Posters get all pious and offended over mere words. Very soft and cowardly. I'll pour some out for Topkent tonight.
