If the largest star known to man was placed in the centre of our Solar System, its radius would extend past Saturn.

^F**k that Sun pic is insane...

Now this is a matter of opinion, before you answer, think about it. If you draw a line from the edge of a peice of paper to the half way point, then to the half way point of that spot and the end of the paper, then again, then again, etc etc, you will be getting closer and closer to the end of the peice of paper. However, consider this, no metter how close you get to the edge (micro milli metres) the next step is only half way to the end from that point.

This sorta reminds me of something I was thinking about the other day watching the Comm Games.

Given enough time you would think that the 100m sprint world record will keep getting beaten right?

But logically, eventually someone is going to have to set a 100m world record that will never, ever be beaten. It has to happen, because if people keep beating the record eventually people will be running the 100m in something impossible like half a second.

So even though it's hard to imagine someone setting a record that no human in history will ever be able to beat, it surely has to happen because the alternative is logically impossible.

Research has said the fastest possible time will be 9.48 seconds.

Then again they also said no one would brake the 4 minute mile.....

Here is a better view of the sheer size of VY Canis Majoris:

If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle; if the horse has one front leg in the air, the person died as a result of wounds received in battle; if the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.

The national anthem of Greece has 158 verses.

^I love shit like that.

I wish I'd been born 5000 years in the future so I could have been some kickarse daredevil astronaut exploring the universe. And Freo might have finally won a premiership by then too.

edit - not you Quinzy - I don't love any shit you post ;)

Does this just apply to Commonwealth Nations?

I dunno, I just steal stuff off the internet mostly. Might not even be true at all. :p

Come at me bro.

Many Japanese golfers carry "hole-in-one" insurance, because it is traditional in Japan to share one's good luck by sending gifts to all your friends when you get an "ace." The price for what the Japanese term an "albatross" can often reach $10,000.

This is a myth.

To keep food from freezing Eskimos use refrigerators.

Penguin urine makes up 3% of the ice in the Antarctic.

Squirrels who forget where they hid their nuts are responsible for planting millions of trees every year.

The sport with the most deaths is golf.

Approximately 12 newborns each day are given to the wrong parents

Well I know of the Bronze Horseman in St Petersburg and Peter the Great died of natural causes.

It could be that it was introduced after the statue was built in 1782 though so who knows.:)

Gee, imagine if you were a husband and you thought your wife may have cheated on you, and your son isn't yours. You take a paternity test, discover he's not, blame the wife, when in fact the child is neither of yours, your wife didn't cheat, you both got given the wrong one! :o

lol at the teacher who cant spell.

private school >>> public school=teaching degree

Mate, I'm probably going to get into the exact same uni as you, and the exact same course. Hell, I could even get into better.

And I pay a combined total of 90$ to study at this school.

Jokes on you, chump!
