I was bemused watching On The Couch last night as Gerard Healy talked up the Crows this week - in his typically dismissive manner he simply referred to Satdee night's game as an opportunity for the Crows to show they are the 3rd best side in the comp. Later when Akermanis was being interviewed he said in asking Aker a question that, "at the start of the season we thought you (the Dogs) were the third best side, but now I reckon the Crows are up there also......."

Hello?

Am I missing something here?

We are currently level on wins with the Dogs in third, we are a game in front of Adelaide, we have beaten the Dogs in our only meeting, etc, etc... but he doesn't rate us.

Great chance this week Pies, to show these skeptics that we are the real deal.

GO PIES!

Yes - the fact that Healy is an idiot. :p

To victory!

Who cares.
If we beat Adelaide this sat, the Bullies will touted as the third best side in the comp!
Or the Lions after they smash the Bombers!
Let them say and think whatever they like! It doesn't matter.
We just need to keep on winning. Try get third spot.
I said the same on nicks.

GO PIES!

Gerard Healy always forms these views and then expresses them intently for weeks until he moves on to his next little fascination. It's just one man's view which seems to be largely based on the 2 point loss to Geelong at Skilled Stadium (and ignores the mauling by the Saints a couple of weeks back).

The effort against Geelong was great but anyone can see that Geelong are in a lull at the moment and struggling to be as good as they where.

I guess the we will know more on Saturday night, however, I think we have room for improvement and are winning games easily without playing really well. I think that's a good sign.

It doesn't really matter what he thinks.

After this weekend, we will all know whether they are in better form than us, or we in better form than them. Either he will be right, or you will be right.

There is not much point in getting too caught up in it before then.

Its not Collingwood's job to please the critics. they'll never be happy until we win the flag, by which time they'll be backpedalling so fast its not funny.

We have two more eight point games against top four rivals to go, and we need to win one of them to get the double chance (as well as not stumbling against Richmond or Sydney).

Despite our good form, Adelaide is in equally good form. And despite our good record at AAMI, its still a home game for them and they'll start favorites, especially after beating us in Round 1.

Flying under the radar suits us pretty well too. I'm happy for that idiot to keep talking up the other teams, keeping all the scrutiny and analysis far away from us :)

Collingwood will smash the crows on their own turf to secure top 4.

We are one of the few melbourne sides that play AAMI stadium well.they'll have their crowd behind them we will have our backs to the wall and that's why we will win.

Pies by 20 points.......Who cares what Healey says !

Has anyone heard him babble on about Danyle Pearce.

If that is what he thinks fair enough, and there is probably some ammo there to support his view, but it is pissweak! Why? Because he trots it out when we head away to play a form team interstate! Downhill skiing for the journo here definately. I could have said the same thing about Adelaide last week as they headed to a certain defeat at Geelong. Doesn't prove squat really.

Should have mouthed his opinion last week and then if we had of lost he might have some basis for his dismissive attitude. I think that on the MCG, all things being equal, we are capable of better football than either the Crows or Bulldogs, was rapt to beat the Dogs at Docklands as we never seem to play that well there. If we do well against Crows at AMII that will auger well for Sept no matter what the critics may say.

What HEaly thinks is only important if you rate Healy's opinion.

Therefore there is no problem with whatever he says. He still thinks the Swans can win the flag.

We've proven that we can beat both Port Adelaide (in better days...) and Adelaide over at AAMI in both H&A and Finals. The home ground advantage is non-existent when they play us.

If anything, Adelaide's advantage will be their ball use - they've improved out of sight. This will be a completely different match to Round 1 from the point of view of both teams.

Will be interesting to see how we go at them - one-on-one as we have previously, or roll out the zone like we did against Brisbane? If there's two things we can hold over them it's leg-speed in the middle and ferocious forward defensive pressure.

Fascinating viewing this Saturday night. I see this as more of a danger match than the Bulldogs was.

I'm looking forward to the game this week. Should be a great test for us.

Hopefully old Gerard will be eating his words.

I don't rate Gerard Healy,

Haha. I can't remember seeing him play (too young) but he was the 1988 Brownlow Medalist.

Maybe he is still burning from us taking him in the 1991 Pre-Season draft and then never giving him a game.

He didn't play because he had a degenerative wrist injury (brought on by...?) and was never really going to play again - but we drafted him on the million to 1 shot that he might have.

For anyone who is interested, i am currently trying to invent a gizmo that you plug into your foxtel or TV and it automatically cuts out anything Healy says. Infact when he talks or you see his face my gizmo will automatically start playing highlights of Leons goals for the year untill heally shuts up. Im sick of watching on the couch and having to put up with that idiot craping on about the swans for 15 20 minutes and then spend 2 minutes underating the pies. Any ideas on names for this contraption?.

No, they will be very unhappy! Then, the suggestion will be that we pinched it because we were lucky - or happened to strike a very weak year (as was suggested in 1990).

Healy and his biases not withstanding, I agree that Adelaide pose a major problem. If we do beat them over there, I'll begin to get very excited indeed.
