I am wondering how you guys are gonna go about getting your tickets for week one?

I have had bad experiences getting tickets over the phone or the net, not just for AFL but music events (eg: AC/DC)

I have decided to line up at an outlet to ensure i can get good seats on Monday.

Is anyone else doing this, or are you gonna take your chances on the net/phone?

I will be lining up at Berwick Ticketmaster :thumbsu:

Firstly, dont go to Ticketmaster, It's Ticketek now for all MCG games.

The closest Ticketek outlets to Berwick are at Fountain Gate SC (near Aldi) or at the Dandenong Plaza.

Myself, I am going to get my tickets (AFL members) over the internet for the first 3 weeks, then if we make the GF I will have a 3 pronged approach, 1 person on the internet, 1 person on the phone, and 1 person in line at an outlet.

For the first 3 weeks, the internet speed is apparently very good, but for the GF, they are going to slow it down to make it more fair for all involved.

Good luck, to everyone.:thumbsu:

I see

Didnt realize that Tickettek had the MCG games

I just wish i hadve got Legends or Social Club membership so i could get GF ticket, i will be mighty pissed if we win the GF and im not there!

There's a Ticketek near me but the closest Ticketmaster is ages away. Stupid Greensborough. (I mean, it's good for the finals, but I'm trying to get tickets for Round 22 and I'm about to travel to Epping Plaza just to do it! :()

I am going to be lining up at Frankston Ticket-Tek on Tuesday morning. And hopefully snag two seats on the second level somewhere, if not, then I will go bottom level.

Either one is good as long as I am there..

The only problem I have found with Ticketek outlets is that they only seem to have one operator/employee per outlet.

Ticketmaster at least used to have Myer where you could get up to 3 operators at any one time.

Just a little maths;

Ticketek line next week;

Even if you get their early, let's say you are 10th in line;

3-4 minutes per transaction (longer with some annoying people)

= 30-40 mins,

so unless the Ticketek website crashes for 40 minutes, I believe the internet is the way to go, especially for the first 3 weeks of the finals.

i was thinking the exact same thing

i may go net and phone at the one time and hope im as lucky as last year and get in on both first go

I'm also hoping for the following line up of finals, will make it easier for us all;

Stkilda vs WB (Docklands - Ticketmaster)

Collingwood vs Geelong (MCG - Ticketek)

Brisbane vs Carltank (Gabba - no idea)

Adelaide vs Essendon (AAMI - no idea)

Would mean we would only have to compete with interstate games on the given on sale days.:D

I think you have to accept that these days the internet is really the best way to get tickets, and it will only increase in importance. Might as well get used to it now mate.

BL on the AC/DC tix. Scored 4 x General A, a mate's sister scored 4 x General A as well and a mate got 4 x General C. Up close and personal for us :D

As much as I hope we beat Hawthorn, I hope we play Carlton. Ignoring the fact it's a rival club, electric atmosphere and won our last 5 against them ... i want to bloody see my club in the flesh as opposed to tv.

I'm going to what most likely will be cats/pies and will be refreshing the ticketek website for a guest ticket. Should be a belter :thumbsu:

Now I'm really confused. I went to Greensborough on Tuesday to get tickets for Sunday -(ended up at Plenty Valley, but they'd all gone long before). The Greensborough people told me they would be selling finals tickets on Monday morning, with doors opening from 7:00am. You have to line up at the Main St entrance. :confused:

I'm guessing you were at a Ticketmaster (obviously for a Docklands game).

Well Ticketmaster will sell finals tickets to some interstate venues and also if Stkilda play the Doggies at Docklands.

All Collingwood finals will be played at the MCG, so Ticketek is our only option, and there aren't a lot of Ticketek outlets around.

I have always lined up for tix and never had a prob - when i get there i'm usually about 5th in line and i have tix in hand at 9.02am. I just hope that ticketek have the same system as ticketmaster had, 4 operators working and pretty fast.....

GO PIES...

Yeah internet is the way of the future, but ive had a couple of bad experiences with the internet/phone for big events
Sound Relief to name 1 event.

Hmmm, i am from Cranbourne, so its either Frankston or Fountain Gate for me...
Which one you guys think?

If I am a collingwood member do I get priority access? If so how does this work? Is it only over the phone/internet or can i go to an outlet?

Apologies in advance for me n00bness. My old man usually sorts it all out but this year I'm heading in with mates.
