WARNING TO ALL VISITORS TO THE GEELONG BOARD. You are - for the most part - welcome to discuss the current list management & trading situation at Geelong. However, this is our board, so be respectful of the home board posters & don't inflame arguments (make your points succinctly and move on). And if you're just here to troll, then don't bother or you will be enjoying a holiday

Cameron is only a 1 time Coleman medalist

As for Hawkins, there are some on here a few years ago (probably around 4) that wanted to trade him for Michael Walters as Hawkins best was apparently behind him

And GWS are welcome to come to the trade table, request multiple first round picks & have a list of Geelong players they want included in the trade, but it's not up to our list management team to talk to those players & their managers and convince one of them to take up the offer. If GWS wants Geelong player, then let the GWS list management team do the right thing - they need to be the ones to approach the players managers, to enquire if anyone is open to moving and then go from there

And again, it's highly doubtful Miers would be high on their priority list as they don't need small forwards
My apologies he is a 2 time AA though.gws don't really have small fwds, they have Greene who is a marking fwd and Daniels. That's it. Maybe if we were dealing with Richmond id agree.

The reason they've matched the offer is because Williams hately and Caldwell left, if Williams had agreed to terms Camerons deal would not have been matched. GWS are in the box seat, 5-6 clubs would deal for cameron, by no means are we in the box seat, so yes our list management team if they want Cameron will be trying to coerise a player north, or the deal falls through.

So what roll will Higgins play for us? I'm not sure he fits team balance, he's an older version of Duncan, beautiful skills, not much defensive pressure though, although he's a better player than Atkins, Atkins plays a better role for us, when we already have a plethora of offensive ball players

Richmond cant afford him
WCE he will not go there
Lions cant afford him now
Collingwood cant afford him, unless they move 1/4 of their list
St Kilda i would doubt once their ace Adelaide mid drops
Port Adelaide dont have the currency, and after they finish with Essendon, they will be exhausted
Carlton will need to get paper bags out, and the recycled variety to afford him
Melb have a Brown or two

so yeah, the dogs are another team who may be able to fit him in
i dont think there are too many clubs

Let’s be honest we will probably end up giving them 2 first rounders, maybe throw in a fringe player. So it might not end up being a fk up by them.

The Cats surely can't offer more than what they did for Paddy so in essence the net benefit is gaining a fringe player instead of simply taking the comp pick.

The collateral damage is that:

- Clubs will be wary in future dealings due to their combative and unprofessional approach at the trade table.

- A disenfranchised playing list due to inequitable player payments and the poor treatment of their senior servants

GWS have screwed up here. They aren't getting anything close to want they want. Perhaps they get nothing!

I’ve been trying to remember for month which Freo player Bobby wanted to trade Hawkins for

Thank you for remebering

They have Bobby Hill and zac Langdon.
Both nothing special.

Trump - Biden and the Geelong merry go round

Collingwood is in chaos, GWS might as fold as everyone wants out or a spare million or two

Geelong, well well. Smith is in the team to release Blitz from the wing, as he has been found wanting in finals. They might want to use his through the middle more, if superfluous to Scarlo's needs. With Menegola and Smith on the wings, there are very few wings who can keep up. Thats players like Gaff, but he lacks the strength of these two.

Higgins replaces Ablett, elite delivery. He is a step up on Close and Atkins. Might be old but worth his weight. In the GF one GA with a busted shoulder showed how elite he is despite being 37.
He has returned !!

I'm good at remembering useless information, such as who we should trade our key forward for

I assume he'll be a straight swap for Ablett across Half Forward.

I can remeber the laugh we all had for weeks over the post...just couldn’t remember the Freo player for the life of me

I know dazbroncos still brings this up to this day

Maybe.

But didnt they spend something like 2 first rounders on him.

Yeah two top tenners, though they didn't intend for it to work out like that - their first rounder from.tjat year plus future 1st (where they didn't meet their own expectations).

I think they'd like to receive max value, but I don't think they're in a position to choose if they realllllly need him gone for culture/SalCap issues. The layer the pick, the less SalCap Collingwood foot, I'd say

Any movement to add a little bit of depth in the guts? i.e. inside mid?

Treloar to the Cats for Pick 20 and half his salary.

Locked and ready to go for tmw
Won’t be happening but if you could add Treloar and Jordy Clark into the GF team over Isaac Smith & Higgins on roughly the same cost I know which one I’d be choosing.

Treloar won’t be leaving Melb.

Sign me the **** up. That'd be a great pickup. Who needs Crouch on a truckload when you can have Treloar at a discount. It's about time Collingwood gave us someone decent.

Be the highlight of my year if we lodged the paperwork nice and quietly for a delisted free agent named Alex Rance.

But Collingwood always tell us that Melbourne's just a short drive? Surely Adam can live in Melbourne and commute? :p
