Assuming we trade pick 30 for Higgins and two first rounds for Cameron. Our picks at the draft are going to be dreadful. One late first round and then probably two picks at the end of the draft.

Im not 100% on this.
Higgins ceiling higher.
But for 2-3 years .

Fog for 8 years plus .

We have front loaded Fogarty into the next two years. We wll see long term I guess.

If we end up with a single R1 ..eg P20 ... I think we should try to investigate a trade for a future pick.

Addy reporting that we've upped our offer to GWS to now be picks 13 and 15.

It can still be a reasonable trade ...it would depend on his performance once in hoops

I hope Constable now wakes up and realizes he isnt all that, nobody wanted him but apparently he should have been playing a long time ago. Go back, get better and earn a spot.

I thought he rated himself abit much and thought he could walk into another club.

Will be a huge wakeup call for him, id still expect him to go at the end of next year though, probable wont get a game next year, we are stacked.

If he's good enough he'll get a game, but he'll need to pull the finger out and get serious

The best thing he can do this off-season is find a personal trainer to work with, want then when he returns for day 1 of pre-season he can be ready to hit the track running

What a waste. Held him back for nothing. Well, to get fit for another club

Well held back until he was fit, which was fair enough.

He was really "held back" b/c we discovered he was going to Brissie.

We were not playing him once that happened.

Nah c'mon - you need to look at this is terms of players in and players out this year.

Too many people are getting hung up on "we got these picks" and "we lost those picks". All that matters is what our team looks like next year and possibly the year after. We are a better team with the 3 deals done - Cameron - Higgins - Smith. And that's all that matters. Looking at what it all means in year 3 is fine - but there are too many variables. 2 years ago we never thought we'd be getting in a bloke like Cameron and everyone was saying the cliff was approaching after Hawkins retired - now look. We never thought we'd get the first rounder we got for Kelly - we probably thought Kelly would be in the hoops for 5-6 years - now look.

Lots of variables and we need to back Scott - Wells - Cook ...... they've earned that surely? What if we get offered 2 first rounders in 2 years for Parfitt? What if we look back and say "gee I didn't think Constable would be All Australian". Did we think O'Connor would develop so quickly and be in the leadership group? Did we honestly think Guthrie and Menegola would be All Australian / or in the 40 man squad in the case of the latter?

Picks now sit at 13 15 20 30 51 plus a 1st 2nd and 2 3rds next year.

I cant imagine we will hold all of those picks by tomorrow night though but its a great hand.

Thanks for that. My key takeaways:

- confident deal for Higgins gets done
- good discussions on Cameron. Some combo of two picks on the table with possibly something coming back depending on the combo
- no one else other than Fogarty or Cockatoo going

Who is the nearly 30 player?

If that's Cameron, he's currently 27 - so aging him a bit there
