I wouldn't be working too hard for Narkle - he is gone at the season end I reckon.

I think so too, however from what we hear he is happy at Geelong and if he can get game time it could tempt him to stay, he has a spot in the team next season IMO, few might go + potential retirements.

Why can't he be patient?
He's not that great a player that he demands a top 22 spot, and if we were to pinch a flag this year, it would be ok if he walked to a greener pasture

I understand his frustration.

There's some depth for the kids to overcome for starters, then they seem to be held to exacting standards whilst watching the likes of Steven, Higgins and Dahl flabbing it week in, week out.

Anyone who watched tonight’s game would have to agree now, CCJ is already better than Sav
Certainly a better forward, really really impressive. Hardly rucks at all, they used Pickett instead so possibly not a like for like comparison at the moment.

He would take Savs spot as MacStradbroke mentioned. He hardly rucks and so does Sav
Like for like except he’s much better

Can he ruck at all? Very slight frame that would get smashed in the ruck which is I assume why the Tigers are using Pickett as their resting ruck rather than CCJ. So I can’t see him taking Ratagolea’s spot as a ruck.

I was surprised to see Chol listed as a free agent. Darcy or a big trade target aside. Chol could be a good target and the type of player and ruck the club would like. Wouldn’t cost much in trade or salary cap. And could make a good duo with Esava rotating ruck and forward.

As I have said. Apparently Ess are interested. His body shape and size, I would not be surprised if he could be developed into a backman. He is good over head and give coverage like Blitz does.

Better footballer yes, but he wouldn’t get a game for us with Hawkins and Cameron.

Quite a counudrum for Rich and CCJ. Tom Lynch own that spot.. and is contracted till 2025. CCJ might enjoy Rich...but he has no chance of regular games in front of TL. Atm , we are probably not much better. Hawkins doesnt look like he is ready to hang them up. He is enjoying the more balanced attention he is getting. Has 2more years in him (injury avoided)

In my opinion he will develop into a good ruckman, will be interesting what happens when Lynch comes back and who they decide to drop
Chol I didn’t rate in the past but he’s been solid the past few games

Chol is probably behind where Blitz was the same age but he needs games now and has enough to offer imo. 24 and a UFA. If we believe we have 2 or 3 that may develop in years to come he would give us coverage.Whether we get Darcy or another ruck or not I suspect he could keep developing and learn to play D.

Having said that. I think he probably looks at a side like Ess.

I agree, I was shocked to find out the age and years of service of Chol.
Think he could possibly be a handy ruck for years to come, even Sydney is a good option for him.
The ruckman behind Darcy I like the most is Sweet from the Dogs

Bar Darcy and the cheapness and upside of Chol .. Im not sure of any being obviously ready be a Darcy #1... but Meek or the two GWS younger rucks are probably the ones id attack. Like Briggs , has only played oen game but has aspect of Mummy about him imo. Flynn showed yesterday that he is handy resting forward.

Maybe I missed something, but why are we discussing Chol?

He's been pretty handy for them but I'm not sure he's ready to be a #1 ruck (or ever will be). Plus, I haven't heard anything beyond he's FA at the end of the year, so there's no link between him and us?

I recall Saints fans cocky a couple of year back over their prospects of enticing Ben King to play with his brother. It was a lay down misere as far as they were concerned. You now wonder what the future of those two lads will be? If St Kilda remain the basket case that they are you'd think that Max will look elsewhere and well, unless GC can finally solve their issues with player retention, then Ben may do the same. With Hawkins still 2-3 years away from retirement then the timing might be quite good for us.

Both will be at a different club after their first contract ends , I can see some Melb clubs throwing large contracts at them

He is rel to discuss as Darcy or any other potential recruit. He is OOC and FA that make him far more obtainable than Darcy, especially when we do not have an R1 this year. I also think he has shown more as a ruck than most potential recruits. Has spring and can mark around the ground.
