GWS have picks so many picks this year already 6000+ points worth (clearly the most in the comp) and still with Hopper to trade out.

It'll be impossible to play hardball with the Bruhn trade because they simply will have so many decent picks coming out of their butts that they really can play hardball with us.

Feel like it would be very handy for us if they were into some players to bring in to eat up some of their draft picks.

Anyway, I feel our F1 is overs for Bruhn on its own & hope we can get something half decent back if we end up offering it.

Would like our 37 + F1 for GWS' 21 (which is their 4th pick this year).

Probably wishful thinking... As per usual... Time will tell.

If it makes you feel better mccartney was on radio tonight saying bruhn will go (ie a trade will get done) whereas hopper is not guaranteed to get done (i think he might be pushing for richmond to add more to the trade).
It was all the usual buzz words and he didnt say what price he thinks bruhn will be done for but i was more bouyant after hearing that than what i was given our last trade with them.

Very real chance that Hopper stays at GWS I think.

Talented yes, but tbh, he's 23, and statistically average as a ruck.

If he didn't share the same surname as SDK, he's around a 2nd round pick. We drafted Rhys Stanley plus Pick 60 for our Pick 21. Ryhs Stanley was considered a very strong talent coming off a year where he took a lot of marks. Athletically, Rhys at his peak, is better than TDK, but TDK probably has better skill levels. He would be a similar value imho.

That's not to say he can become a player that commands a first round pick, but at the moment, not really imho.

If carlton rebuffed us the last time we came for tdk under contract they arent trading him this time for a 2nd rounder. If we want him for that price we are best to wait 12 months til his contract is up.

Basically Bruhn is OOC so we have to trade him ... but Hopper is not so ... we have hand..

What are they going to want though. Surely not more picks in 2022 draft.

You’d think that if we get Bowes it doesn’t look great for Menegola’s prospects in getting a game. Someone may argue, “but they play different roles” but it’s still another number taken in the midfield. Similarly not sure what it means for Stephens? I know we have a few retiring over the next few years but how long do you wait?
We have loaded up on young mids - Stephens , Knevitt , Willis , Whyte , Dempsey ( sort of) , so with potentially Bruhn , Bowes and P7 ( probably a mid? ) competition is going to be fierce even though Duncan , Tuohy, Blitz and Danger are getting closer to the end.
Still , not a bad thing considering how important clearances and being excellent between the arcs has become :thumbsu:

He certainly seemed less optimistic on that deal closing than bruhn.

That said given kingsleys connections it might be about trying to extract a player from richmond.

I would assume future 1st +30 + a reasonable level fringe player will still get it done.

Someone mentioned earlier on here that O Henry is slow off the mark, and has poor agility. I can't find the comment now, but it was back quite a few pages.

He has good agility imho, and a very high skill level both at marking and by hand and by foot. He seems to play a bit like a Jack Gunston, but better skills.

He won't bring manic pressure like Rohan does, but perhaps under the right system his defensive efforts could improve.

Agility is not an issue, he can sidestep through traffic pretty good actually, and he can put boot to ball in tight spaces.

Only his defensive pressure is his weakness, and I think that can be solved under the right system.

He is probably more Menzel than Rohan.. can you put in what is not natural? I be just happy to see him nail his setshots. Cause if you don't bring defensive pressure you best score efficiently.

You know what is wild. I just did a b22 with a line through all 30+ year olds as a guide to depth and I made it all the way to 4th emergency before hitting players who haven't debuted

Bews SDK MOC
Stewart Kolo JHenry
Holmes Bowes Bruhn
Miers Cameron OHenry
Close Neale Stengle
Conway Atkins Guthrie

Parfitt Zuth Simpson Dempsey

Emg Knevitt Stephens Sav

I'm up for discussion about Bowes, but I don't get it

Bowes might come to Geelong ( might ) as basically his getting pushed...
But the chances of him being in our best side next year would be very slim right? If his struggling to get a game at Gold Coast, fox footy said his 8th in line to play midfield at Gold Coast that didn't make top 8, and MAYBE come to Geelong to play midfield in our side, with our current list in Holmes inj, Menegola, Stephens, etc and the like of Tanner Bruhn coming into our side 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
I don't get it for Bowes sake....
Has been played out of position and pushed out due the perception that Anderson/Rowell etc and better suited.

They may well be, but GC is desperate to retain them so no one else will be tried to ensure they reign supreme.

Bowes will play a role in the midfield at the Cats. He won't be asked to be a premier/elite mid ... just do a job and have fun. That's going to suit him and keep the pressure off.

It sounded like they were wanting a bit more than that. And being under contract, they can name their price. I think it will require F1 plus a decent player. Which Tigers prob won’t budge on which is why I think it might be more unlikely than likely to occur. They hardly need more mid range draft picks. They need players now.

After today they have 3 19 21 43 and will have 30 if hopper goes through. So they wont 37 or later from us.
I think they will want 18 or more likely our future 1st and broadly we will agree the haggling will be over whether they send a later pick back to us (or pick swaps in our favour).

It indeed is possible-obviously graham wont go to port now (because of jhf)and giants dont need another inside mid but if theres a richmond mid tier player like that thats willing to go to gws then it gets done-you can bet kingsley will try to convince someone.
I agree if that doesnt happen it might not get done which puts pressure on hopper..unless he has a great year next year he wont get a 7 year contract offer again as an FA.

It’s nice of Bowes to gather intel from all the other clubs.
Bit of a worry to be honest, if he's been to Essendon and North he'll come out knowing less than when he went in

Just on O Henry agility, just watch his movement in this very short clip. He has better agility than Jack, and higher foot skills on both sides. Jack is a bigger body though, and more a straight lines type of player which is probably why he is better as a defender. I think O Henry can stay a forward.

That first goal was all class
