We were just going on the available information. By all accounts the Geelong offer was so astonishingly under value that the negotiators were left incredulous and questioned whether Mackie was some kind of village idiot type character and not an actual representative of a professional organisation. The word 'flog' may not have been used, but it seems a likely possibility.

You really are slow, aren't you??! 😯

By "By all accounts" you mean "By some bitter drongo trying to be controversial on trade radio's account".

I see you have come to the Cat Board and thrown the tem "flog" around and applying it to Geelong people....

I could easily sanction you but given we are Premiers and your team isnt, and the good will flowing from our success. I wont apply a sanction right now..but that will change if you come in here again or respond to this post...

So...on your way...and please..don't test me.

Seems like your request has been ignored DTC.........

Under value ..in your opinion. ...and Collingwood have never been in a situation where they asked for overs or under in an exchange? What do you ask for Beams first time out again?

All clubs would start a fair way from the middle line...and all clubs would know that.

Thank You.

If you say so then he should be gone to Norf with either pick 2 or 3.
Even Essendon or Gold Coast would be crazy to let him pass them by.
Cant wait for draft night TBH.
So the highlight reels on YouTube don't do him justice. Could you share more about what you have seen in him live. Totally with you that seeing a player live is a massive difference as a huge part of value is in what you do without the ball. Thanks in advance

If we can obtain a f3 from port for Sav then surely we could send two F3 to GC for Bowes that will give more points than a F2 anyway so should appease the AFL

Fox Footy reckons the deal gets done 🤞

I still feel we will find a way to add something ..... Pies feel dudded..we felt dudded last year. It give one glimpse into the issues of GC and GWS. I dare say its a shock to the system having someone prefer Geelong to Collingwood

Just had a look it was Cal T 1st draft no mention in top30 .... but thats the difference. Ten years ago is a long time with the attention that now is given.... and the first round single figures are far more known now.
Wow...big reach. Unfortunately didn't pay off like Mackie etc. He showed a bit pre that knee injury, but was never the same after IMO.

But as you say, very different these days. The time, money, people and resources that is put into it these days...very professional and thorough.

I get your tone; Collingwood is a destination club of course; the circumstances with OH are not unique even this season, given Bruhn is already now a Cat.
Would love to know why we did not do the OH deal first with 18, and then the rest.

First ... I hope you boy is OK..Must have run hard at the combine.

Second. I think we committed to Bruhn a fair time ago... where as Henry was only after Hopper... and we do not how much of a commitment Geelong made. I woudl have done OH first too.. but I can only hope that the professionals know their business.

I appreciate that and if that’s acceptable then that’s the best outcome
However if that was given the tick by the AFL then you would have thought the deal would have been done already
Unless they want the Henry deal done first to remove 7 from the equation

There is no limit on our Fr3... we have trade our Fr2 and Fr4 and can do Fr3. There is a limit on us trading our Fr1

There is more chance Sav Rocca comes out of retirement to play for pies next year than Geelong involving 7 in any deal.

7 will be taken by Geelong to the draft. 100% certain.

we can debate the merits of who we should take at 7 .... but isn't that great .. the concept of who should take at 7.

IF on the faint chance we split it it would only be after some amzing offer in draft after we missed who we were after.

We've still got to complete a trade that gets us Bowes and pick 7

Id be putting Parfitt on the trade table 1st - a 1 paced shuffler who is lucky to kick 40 metres - and was not in the 23 if Holmes was available

And talking about Holmes - a few of the players were saying - we have to win it next year for Max - and i reckon a few of them would be saying the same about Sam - and i would be keeping Menengola - who can kick a football 55-60 metres - effortlessly and most times straight
I agree with Jack ... not for the squad, but for Menegola, who if he is not in the top 25 (yep, I know he was injured this year), it might make sense to consider options elsewhere if they are on offer. But the team now has a number of elite runners - not just Blitz, but Meiers, Holmes, esp. - and he does not have always have the composure that the best teams have consistently.

Describing Parfitt as a one-paced shuffler betrays a lack of observation - he is elite through traffic, has been a mainstay in midfield defence, and has a balance of inside and out. He does not have elite speed ... neither did Selwood, nor does Duncan, and they have gone/go alright.

In terms of how he is perceived, Scott's reaction to Parfitt's goal said something? In terms of his role, and the demographics, I can't see an argument for even having a discussion about trading Parfitt.
