The jury's well and truly out on how good Jackson will be IMO, there's no way I'd want us to trade two first rounders for him.
Reasonable deal for both parties, Freo will back themselves to be top 4-6 again next year and Melbourne can hopefully use the picks to land a key forward which is easily their biggest need.

Ralph keeps running with this, but nothing is happening...why is this deal not done yet if it's this simple, lol? Only thought I have, is that we are going to wait until the death knell to do that trade, so that Pies can't get 7 from us and have to accept 25. I can't see any other reason such a simple trade hasn't taken place yet - seeing as Cleary himself said it would be done late Friday/early today.

While I would take Jackson at Geelong, its because he would be a ruck upgrade on Stanley.
Is Jackson a ruck upgrade on Darcy? In my opinion he isn't. Is he a forward upgrade on Lobb? Stats suggest no.
Be interesting to see how Jackson is used next year. The only suggestion I have seen that makes sense is if they use Jackson in the role we used Blicavs but then does Jackson have the tank Blitz has?

Danger pointed out that he would be one of those who deserved a premiership medal based on the amount he helped the team prepare for the GF. Each session for training, Stephens asked Danger, which opponent mid he wanted him (Stephens) to emulate. Sounds like someone absolutely dedicated to seeing his team win.

Does this negate the Blitz advantage a little bit? Or just free him up to be a full time mid-tility*

Apparently Wright wasn't going to accept anything less than a first rounder that was better than the Pick 17 Henry was drafted at, so probably wouldn't have worked anyway

Mackie has set it up so that we cannot give away FR1. So it's ended up as a take it or leave it for Henry.
