Not to burst any bubbles, but not many get drafted from the state combine. If you're not making it to the national combine you're probably not much chop.

I cant see us structurally doing that as we look so much better with blitz around the ball.
This is why i reckon we draft someone like phillips if sav goes.

I can see us going with it just to limit the exposure of each ruck individually. If we're are coming up against some shit truck teams itll be a way to give them a 'rest'

I don't know man... You just play by the rules and do your best.

As much as I want Henry and want him on the cheaper side... I'd be dirty as if the AFL started getting involved and throwing their weight around if we didn't want to trade a player to another club for what we thought was unders.

No one is burning a pick on a kid that will play 20 games at best for you and at worst disrupt the playing group and undermine the culture.

Collingwood sure as s* aren't going to play him at afl level next year even if they did sign him.

I don't know what they think they're getting out of it at this point. I think they think that with enough pressure we'll split 7. Which is why I think we haven't traded for Bowes yet.

The only issue is we arent using more than 2 picks imo so if we end up with 7 25 and 33 33 is dead to us. So i reckon we only trade sav if theres a pre agreement with coll eg 25 and 33 for henry and 41-7 and 41 as our 2 picks.
Or we only take 33 if theres a club that will buy it off us for a future r2/3 which would be better to give us a future pick.

Im not going back from having my preference as samDek. We just draft in someone else and develop them.

Interesting re. Henry.

Collingwood may end up taking 25. But they’re clearly not happy about it.

Makes you wonder what we were doing with the very lopsided pick swap with Brisbane. You’d think we’d only agree to that with an understanding Collingwood would be amenable to that pick for Henry.

We wouldn’t have used all this years picks anyway. But giving away our R2 next year just to move up from 38 to 25 when we will likely have a few retirements and extra list spots to fill seems strange.

Let’s hope Collingwood relent and give us Henry

Oscar Riccardi may not be super talented but the 2km run shows he puts in the work. Brownless was also a good runner and trained well. Puts them in with the best chance of making it at least they’re giving themselves the best shot.
