From the main board, HS predicted top 25 (has Jhye coming to us)

Would be pretty funny if GC took Ginbey and we took Busslinger and the Eagles trade down doesn't get them either of the WA players

Give Neale a solid reason to sign a 3 year contract would be ideal
2nd looks like Max Holmes

Thanks mate. Definitely interesting reading going through his posts, but it does sound like he's still not sure himself...so I would say it's basically between Clark and Buss as it stands. If one is gone we'll take the other, but if both are there then that'll be really really interesting to see what we do.
I think it's between those two as well FWIW (mackenzie is the other one i think we would really like but hawthorn may take him) and i would be happy with either..it's almost line ball for me on which one we take.
Can buss take the first or second fwd or is he more a third intercepting tall?
To me he looks like he plays like a taller version of zuthrie.
Think 7(8) is a reach for a player like that. Think there may be better options with a top 10 pick than this sort of player.
If he’s a genuine no. 1 or 2 key defender then it’s a different story
Apparently Hawks are really keen on Humphrey, and are likely to take him if GC go with Ginbey
If that happens they just take hewett i assume.
Darcy Jones looking like the bolter in this draft too - so wouldn't surprise if he went at 12 (13)
I think the top 4 (plus ashcroft) is fairly set ie cadman wardlaw sheezel and tsatas (just a matter of what order they go) but what gc (gc are hard to predict given their retention issues and they might even trade 5) and hawks do at 5 and 6 will shape how the next 10 picks look. I can see hawthorn taking humphrey yes although they have been a team that prioritises good kicks in the past which makes me think they may go mackenzie.
Holmes recently signed though a few months ago. I reckon the 2nd one is zuthrie.
I'm pretty sure it's Atkins, as the clue is 'bull', it matches his silhouette (has long hair in his photo rather than the shaved head), and would make sense if it's him and Close getting signed along with the vets - as they're the two rookie upgrades who should have been on the main list ages ago
It could be i only went zuthrie as he is still ooc (unless theyve signed him and just never announced it) and him signing has been talked about for the last few weeks.
I agree close and atkins would make sense though.
Plan B if we don’t get the mid we rate could well be Buss’ with a view to Henry/SDK pinch hitting forward. Not sure we need another KPD. SDK and Henry are 21 and 25. And Kolo is 27 who can play all sizes.
But as always, in Wells we trust!
Yeah I had him as the 2nd and 3rd picks as well, but I didn't think the clues added up...so I went with the other two given Hawk, Tuohy and Smith matched the other 3 silhouettes/they need new deals. Assume the Zuthrie deal will shortly follow/has already been done - but wasn't announced - as it had already been agreed around the Prelim according to Krock. We'll see though...could definitely be wrong, haha
The other one would be simpson, technically his contract expires in a week so they either need to sign him or delist him (and re rookie if they want). But like zuthrie they might not 'announce' that one as its lower profile than tuohy/hawk/smith.
x 100000000000000000000000000I would love it if Neale signed now he is a priority but realistically his manager will tell him to hold off til mid next year to a) maximise his value if he plays games and b) see if hawkins is going on in 2024 or not before they sign.
Obviously one signing will be tuohy, i assume another is simpson (whether its a senior contract or him getting delisted and re rookied), third will be zuthrie. One of the heads looks like hawk and the other smith (i assume 1 year deals for both) so thats probably the 5. I suppose the other possibility is atkins or close signing upgraded contracts with being elevated from the rookie list (both have 1 year left on contract but i presume we would want to extend them).
When u see guys like Pickett, Close, Stengle and Charlie Cameron doing their thing.I really rate jones (I didn't even mind Chris25 taking him for us at 8 in the phantom draft!) but i will say historically players of his size rarely go top 10 and tend to slide a lot later in drafts. I still think he goes somewhere early 2nd round (ie 20-30 or so).
Either of those two could easily be our CHF in 2024-25 IMO.Plan B if we don’t get the mid we rate could well be Buss’ with a view to Henry/SDK pinch hitting forward.

So Close signs tomorrow for 3 years i hope..??The re-signings are in:
Hawkins, Tuohy, Norm Smith - one year
Zuthrie, Atkins - two years
Premiership players stick together![]()
