The thing that stands out is how amateurish that feels. He was taken at pick 24 so must've been pretty well known. And they're asking him stuff like whether he played for the Bushrangers last year and how he got injured.

Every club would have those details on 200+ draft prospects now. Maybe they did know and were just letting him get into the conversation but the club seemed about as prepared as they would be for a blind date.
How many times have you been to an interview and they ask about your background etc. when they're already read your CV so clearly already know that you have a degree in X and have worked for company Y.

It happens in interviews in every industry.

If North take Curtin, that's how we get someone decent besides O'Sullivan, IMO.

We get O'Sullivan, I'm trading with Adelaide for 10 and 20/10 and Future 1st. Wilson and Leake/Tholstrup/DeMattia etc or the Future 1st, is better than O'Sullivan alone, IMO.

Yeah, agree. If North picks Curtin it is likely Sanders reaches us. Dogs seem set on Watson, Melbourne and GWS both set on talls. Probably ends up like this:

1. West Coast - Reid
2. North Melbourne - Duursma
3. North Melbourne - Curtin
4. Hawthorn - McKercher
5. Bulldogs - Watson
6. Melbourne - Caddy
7. GWS - O'Sullivan

That's exactly my read on it too, and has been for a while now. No idea if it happens, but hoping like hell it does. All rests on where Curtin goes.

Also think it's a possibility that Melbourne take O'Sullivan too, as May is 32 in January, and not getting any younger. There's also the possibility that someone like Windsor, Wilson, Murphy etc. are bolters, and someone like GWS picks them instead.

Windsor seems to be getting a lot of attention in the last couple of weeks, so very possible that everything is not completely 'set' yet.

You seriously think whenever these stories do the rounds (no matter what club) that the 2-3 month "injuries" that pop up are always legitimate?
Unless you have some reliable evidence to prove otherwise, then you have to take the clubs word for it.

Otherwise you are choosing to believe in unproven conspiracy theories.

Given the evidence we do have, and the pattern of behaviour Clayton has shown over the past 12 months, I wouldn't blame anyone for being suspicious of the claimed 'seizure'.

He can play anywhere, and has.
While that is true... he spoke about how he and his Claremont Colts coaches came up with the plan to start him off as a forward this season, and they abandoned that plan after a handful of games as it just wasnt working out the way they hoped. That was when he moved into the midfield for the first time and had probably his best game of the season.

Thanks for the insight.

Could he genuinely play as a permanent midfielder?? If so, in what sort of midfield role??

I think we would all be very happy with that outcome… I am happy with either caddy sanders or o Sullivan…. Setting up two key backs who are A grade for the next decade isn’t a bad thing. Most premiership dynasties are built off elite defenses
