and I applaud your enthusiasm on their potential.
But they are just tall fast inline athletes with very little actual footballing skills by either hand foot and in game reading of the play.
Worked well that length and speed as a 17 year old in a school boy setting even the Coates League... But not the AFL.
Would they have benefitted from coming to the cattery??
Not sure Wells has them highly ranked even as juniors from what i can recall.
Multi positional players are what the AFL is all about and these two would struggle to play anywhere than FF. Even though one had a few good games at CHB/FB in the u-18 comp many moons ago.

I seem to remember Wells rated Max quite highly. Not that it matters much. He probably rates a lot of players highly and they are un available and I think injuries have killed King now. One thing that was a huge down side was his kicking/conversion

That is the inordinate quandary . Over the years there have been some fantasticly talented players that were just not capable of sustaining their bodies to play afl. Im starting to push my chips in towards Edwards. Just be nice to see one of the guys drafted playing apart from Pike.

Gee I thought his family health circumstances mandated that he had to live in Perth or else the family * cough * his sheila demanded in no uncertain terms to return back home that I'm guessing had more to do with her own comfort and opportunity to take advantage of her newly bestowed (that had nothing to do with her) wag status in a location she was familiar with and had some profile to to be able to do so * cough * couldn't manage. That's the heart strings they were pulling wasn't it? What's changed now? Hope his children have fully recovered from whatever health concerns ailed them but for some reason I highly doubt it. Thanks but no thanks, Geelong already have older veterans that are physically struggling as they approach the twilight of their careers but the club repays their years of loyalty by sticking by them as repayment for that loyalty. Geelong doesn't need to do that for older players who are performing well below their best who've given their best years to other clubs. Good thing he's staying where he is, it's where he belongs. I'm absolutely disgustged by individuals who use the health circumstances surrounding their children as a shield to hide their own selfish wants so this is just fine by me.

I would rather Bergman and so would the club from what i heard last year.
Multi-positional GEM were the words i heard last year.
I didnt seee it then but i do now.
FWIW He'd be an instant replacement for Stewart who's days of being a AA star defender are coming to an end.

Bergman is a gun but we have plenty of mid sized defenders we don't need another (we need a small defender but you can rookie list them).
We need gun mids and a ruck I wouldn't be wasting first rounders on Bergman.

Tim and the club might have been interested but Caitlin never was. Unless he was planning on divorce (which wouldn't have been realistic to live away from his kids) he had no choice as Caitlin wasn't leaving WA and freo weren't going to take Tim after what happened last time. So he had no choice but to stay there and that's the right decision for his kids.

He's been moved to the wing a lot this year and in the showdown they threw him on ball and tbh that looks to me to be his best position.

I don't think he fits our needs specifically but in sure there's clubs our there that would love him in the middle for them

Have have no doubt Warhorse: that in a perfect world Tim Kelly would have preferred to have never left Geelong where without question he played his best football but for family reasons and understandably so, it just wasn't meant to be. Even now Warhorse: I still think he wished he never left us but family must always come first, especially when it comes to the well-being of his wife and children. One thing's for sure Warhorse: and that is he's never been the same footballer for varying reasons the moment he left the Cats which must be so disappointing and frustrating for him and I'm sure that there are many at the Cattery that really do feel for him given everything that has happened to him since leaving the Cats.

MacStadbroke:...Miles Bergman for Port Adelaide is developing into a gun and elite footballer and is trajecting to be every bit as good as Zach Guthrie for Catters, if not already and I'd be over the moon if he decided to come our way.

“So I think for Zak, for Josh and the football club I hope they are having really honest conversations with each other and if there is any signs that Zak is willing to return to Victoria my belief is you have to let that player go but you have to get worthy compensation for them and start to build that list.”

It's interesting for us too. Let's say Reid and Butters both want to get to Geelong. Eagles don't come to the party. Would people here be happy to see us go all in for a trade for Butters end of 2025?
