Couldn't be soon enough. Our midfield is a glaring weakness and not sure how it gets rectified in 2026 without further help.
Hopefully Worpel comes at season's end... Will be very handy for us..
Plus Hopefully Stevens can take a shock rise

The 2 birds with the one stone scenario with a domino effect of sorts.
TDK for free.
A 1st and 2nd rounder at a minimum for Marshall.
Add Bergman for free.
Within 12 months they grab Bergman TDK and a nice pick in the top 10.
All of a sudden they become a relevant player when talking about Flag contenders.
Some smart manoeuvres from someone with brass balls if u ask me.

Why Bergman for free? I’m sure Port is going to want something. If as reported three or four clubs are after him …will he still default to Stk.

True... but i stopped at adding another player or two as i was too enamoured in watching the Knicks choke at Madison Square Garden vs the Pacers... reminiscent of the Ghost of Reggie Miller.
That has made my day TBH!!!
So back to the Saints.
I think they are in play with another quality mid if my info is on the ball.
So if u revamp their midfield which is worse than ours tbh they climb that ladder easier than people might think.
Ross Da Boss is a genius IMO.
Another year another jump is what i see.
Pity King has become a dud like his brother.
No wonder his name has been bandied around. Along with his brother may i add.

Be interesting to see if they offered Worpell overs... like 7 figures.

If they do get Bergman , another HBF type .. I wonder if we ask about Hastie. Seems more and more obvious you need run and young legs in the Half back line ..

.....Ben King was leading the Coleman until last night's game

Couldnt help but think that the inclusion in the team and subsequent subbing on of Ted Clohesy against the Dogs last night was possible tactical in more ways than one - Firstly the state of the game and secondly given the Dogs have shown some interest in him last year - could this have been something of a strategy to further pique their interest?
Tongue in cheek of course as winning a match would always take priority over future trades

TBH he is a spud...u can dress him up with butter, cream with a sprinkle of herbs, turn him into a nice mash.
But he is still a spud 4me.
Him and his brother are/were the most hyped youngsters in the land. Pfft..
So yeah nah not 4 me.

I would rather Bergman and so would the club from what i heard last year.
Multi-positional GEM were the words i heard last year.
I didnt seee it then but i do now.
FWIW He'd be an instant replacement for Stewart who's days of being a AA star defender are coming to an end.

I mean - they were also sent to the two worst clubs for player development (imho) and have been cruelled by injuries.

If either of them were at Geelong they'd be further along the development path than they currently are.

I think at least one of them will eventually come good.

Yeah i give u that.
and I applaud your enthusiasm on their potential.
But they are just tall fast inline athletes with very little actual footballing skills by either hand foot and in game reading of the play.
Worked well that length and speed as a 17 year old in a school boy setting even the Coates League... But not the AFL.
Would they have benefitted from coming to the cattery??
Not sure Wells has them highly ranked even as juniors from what i can recall.
Multi positional players are what the AFL is all about and these two would struggle to play anywhere than FF. Even though one had a few good games at CHB/FB in the u-18 comp many moons ago.

What was the reason for Bailey blocking Libba from the contest Q4 last night ? Was it because he new Libba was good in those big moments? Bailey looked like he exhausted Libba.

Also looking at our fixture. There are just no easy games in this competition any more. If you luck out you get to play Richmond, Eagles or North twice. We didn't get any of those.

And even the lower teams like Carlton , Essendon and St Kilda are a threat to us.

We've got 12 games left. And it's absolutely possible (almost probable) that we will only play 3 teams that finish in this year's top 8 over that sequence of games, with six of the twelve games on our home deck.

Not to say we can't make a right mess of what's in front of us. But that's just about the dictionary definition of a 'dream draw'.

Yeah ok you've made me feel better about it. We just need a couple of the current top 4 teams to crumble.

Looking at our recent games against Saints, Carlton and GWS we can 100% make a mess of things to come.

But we do have a fairly good draw from here with 2 games against Richmond 2 against ESS and 1 against WCE, Port and North

That is 7 games in which we Should win. Which would take us to 14 wins

mentioned recently that the afl should explore usa for talent …be interesting to see what they come up with..

on first nations numbers …. as a percentage of population is it really out of kilter? Doesn't mean it can not get better.. just takes the afl to be proactive. If clubs can add Rookie B guys ..due to the advanatge of not having to spend a draft pick… id imagine a simialr arrangement would boost numbers of first nations players too.
