If I am West Coast, its going to take something special to consider letting Reid go this year. 3 mid to late teen draft picks won't do it. We will have to give up someone we don't want too loose. A Humphries or Edwards being from WA and having the potential to be very good would have to be part of a deal. Doesnt have to be them, but has to be a very good player. For example, 3 first round picks plus Humphries might get them to at least think about it.

Then Reid has to agree to accepting considerably less money than other clubs will offer.

Just cannot see it.

I've posted in here about Cadman a few times. Cats are all over this bloke and given the connection with his mentor (J Cameron) and footy background (Rebels / Ballarat) I don't think much has changed since he was drafted.

Cadman is a Darley / Bacchus Marsh boy and grew up a country kid. Drank the same tap water and snorted the same country air as another bloke we're trying to coax home (Z Butters). Cadman hooked up with Cameron post GF in 2022 and there's a photo doing the rounds of him wearing Jezza's premiership medal. People I stay close to at the club reckon Cadman has - and will remain - the clubs primary target. In their minds he's J Cameron Mk2

I doubt it. Not with how crocked Conway is. I doubt Edwards wants to go to wce anyway or that many good players want to go there.

There's a general consensus in club land that Reid's management has flagged a possibility of him leaving at seasons end "if a suitable deal can be arranged". So as of a few weeks ago (when I was told) the likelihood of him leaving was growing as the weeks went by. If there was zero possibility of him leaving this season, I think clubs are of a view that a firm "no" would have been communicated well and truly before now.

As FishGutz has flagged - we're now at mid year bye period and things generally heat up from about now. Rowell has just spoken out and flagged staying - Maynard the same - Pickett just announced - Dempsey any day. I think we'll see a few more chess pieces start to get moved around.

All I know is that if Reid says he's out, and he names Geelong, then Geelong are confident they can satisfy a trade.

That's all very well and good but none of that has anything to do with why wce would deal him this year. And I can't see anyone being able to offer enough to make them do it. Next year when he's ooc very different.

Only if Edwards was open to the trade, but the basic fact that only 2 months ago he re-signed for a further 2 years would suggest he's not looking to move any time soon
