What can anyone tell me about him?

I have hardly seen him play too much before in all honesty, but he seems to be all the rage at the moment.

Does he have the tools to be our number 6 in the test arena allowing Watson to bat 90% of the time?

There's actually a thread about him in the domestic cricket channel. You'll find plenty of opinions in there. :thumbsu:

Gives it a fair whack and bowls some tidy offies. I reckon his bowling will improve alot, have seem him bowl some gems, just needs a little bit of confidence to throw it up more often.

Looks like our first real big hitter since White and Symonds at the start of their careers. His off spin will be more than handy for the shorter formats, very Dussey like.

Has the skills and temperament to be a serious international cricketer in all three formats.

Can hit good balls to the boundary a bit reminiscent of Adam Gilchrist.

Warner, Watson when when wants? Also, Maxwell doesn't play like Dussey.

Got heaps of ability. Would like to see him bat higher up, somewhere in the top 4. The problem with Australia in limited overs cricket is that we get off to slow start and dig ourselves a hole and build pressure on ourselves.

Gun. Would slot into 6 in the test side quite easily IMO
How can you make sort of claim about someone who has played three ODIs and 3t20s for Aus and hasn't a single ton at first class level?

Though our selectors are probably thinking the same thing. Only they'll stick him in at 3 to protect the old guys.

I think he has one FC hundred, but I agree with the rest of this.

Has shown a good temperament whenever I've seen him bat. His offies are more than handy as well
I wouldn't label his temperament as his best quality - known to get out playing silly shots (reverse sweeps and the like) and reverts to his cow-corner hit too often.

The bloke is a jet. Superstar batsmen who should potentially bat in the top 4 in ODIs and T20Is soon enough. Bowling is a bit iffy at this stage but is still young and plenty of time to improve. From South Belgrave, he has hit the fastest 50 in T20 history from just 19 balls for Victoria back in the days of the KFC T20 Big Bash back in 2010/11 I think it was. Spent last years BBL with the Renegades at Etihad Stadium but this year has jumped ship to the Stars from the MCG
