What a start to the season. Flower did nothing and we still won easily enough. I Like the bowling this year. Full of youth but it is better than carrying older players who have no future. Same goes with the batting, how we weeded out the Johnsons and Vaughans. That had to happen.

I think Johnson is a better option to open than Dietz.

Two seasons ago Johnson was our only batsmen and carried his bat twice and nearly three times which would have been a world record I think.

Forgot about Deitz, possibly the only real weak link left in the side.

Batting still worries me though. Especially the openers. Higgs and Miller can be a bit hot and cold too. Surely for team balance either Manou or Deitz have to go, then we can put another batsman in and have Miller at 7. The positive is the tail wagged in both innings, without Clearys cameos in both innings and WA bowling stocks being decimated with injuries during the game, the result could very easily have gone the other way. Good win though, especailly when usually the Redbacks playing at the WACA means 6 pts to the opposition.

50 runs is an easy win? Sheesh, if Wates wasn't caught on the boundary they were in strife.

Well 50 runs at the WACA is an easy win considering we havent won there for ages.

Rofe will play for Australia in the next few years.

A trio of half decent pace bowlers in Cleary, Tait and Rofe. Its like having George, Gillespie and Hags back.

Geez, I sure hope Cleary and Tait turn out better than George and Harrity.

Yep, Johnson to open, and I woukd drop Deitz to seven so he can do what he does best ... wicketkeeper. Don't understand why Manou is still in the team.

Until 1 leaves at the end of the year for NSW to be guaranteed of Australian selection

but we do have Kelly as backup
