An outright win sures up Tassie hosting the final.

Anything else opens the door for WA if they can win outright against NSW, who are also trying to make the final.

Tassie rested Meredith, and half way through the final session SA are on 9/257 - which looks a pretty good day 1 total on a green top.

NSW can't pass Tassie mate, they're over 12 points behind. Victoria need to score 450+ in 100 overs and Tassie get rolled for under 200 to pass them.

Yep, completely misread Vic/NSW on the table :(

Redbacks would be quite pleased with the end result at Day 1, despite batsmen committing suicide early. Brazell committed the sin of not waiting to see if the ball had passed the fielder and was run out. McInerney didn't get his foot across to cover the leg side and nicked to the keeper (how many times do we see that in contemporary cricket?)

Our old friend JFM got the perfect ball from Carlisle. Two fielders out deep on the leg side, gets the perfect short ball just above eye line, hits under the ball, straight up in the air to one of the fielders. He's got some talent the boy but no brains. Lehmann got a very good ball (from Elliott) to a new batsman and anchored him to the crease.

McSweeney back in form with 117. We can only hope it's a sign for the future as Australian cricket desperately need some fresh batting talent. Elliott also picked him up at the end with a very good delivery.

Finishing the day with Tassie 3/27. McAndrew a handy 3 poles was as good a day's play as we've had all season. How often do you see this in sport? One team's season all over so they put in the effort, while their opposition are possibly thinking about the Shield Final.

Love a Bellerive green top. We're back in it!

324 to win. Tough ask, but tomorrow will be the best of the batting conditions. Fingers crossed we can hold out tonight.

2 overs into day 3 and we've already buggered ourselves

Bloody Jewell, the third ball of the day he goes for the big drive and gets caught in the slips.

He is proving to be such a disappointment.

Here are his scores for the Shield season.
87, 0, 0, 27, 2, 22, 6, 1, 4, DNB, 20, 4, 37, 9, 5, 227, 40, 1, 0, 11

Silk needed the zing bails, that's not out in a T20 or ODI :(
