Wow am i sick of the whinging occuring on here after every loss. This waah waah the players skills weren't very good so we should sack the coach crap after every game we lose is a joke.

West Coast are a damn good side who granted were missing a few top line players but so were we! Honestly at the start of the year how would you rate the Crows chances going in against WC without Goody, Burton, Perrie, Hentshel, Biglands, Bode etc? Not great?

Sure we played like crap, but that's the nature of football! It's going to happen every time, people need to put the dummy's into their mouth and stop having a cry. One thread is having a whinge that we don't play Gill, I mean FFS the key forwards did a great job last match, there would of been an outcry had one of McGregor, Welsh or Bock being dropped.

It seems everyone on this board is a genius in hindsight and i'm sick of it. The Crows lost today and you know what, it's going to happen again and again. We were beaten by a better side on the day and it would not have changed with a different coach etc.

Contender for worst post of the year. You’re sick of negative comments; well I’m sick of those types of posts that are clearly blinded by love of the AFC.

I’m sorry but we’re allowed to have a crack when he fold like a pack of cards against West Coast at home once again. They were without Judd, Cousins, Stenglein and Hansen, those are 4 huge players for their team and structure. This was a massive chance to shake the hoodoo they’ve got on us and yet he played like absolute trash.

And why are people factoring Biglands into the key injuries pile? Biglands is mediocre at best and during the last half of 2006 everyone was calling for his head.

If there was a worst post of the year award you would have won it long ago.

For the record, i agree atleast partially with Jo. Some of the stupid overreactions on this board in the immediate aftermath of a loss are embarassing. People should just take some time to clear the head, before they start banging away on the keyboards making demands like 'sack neil craig', and 'Ricciuto should be dropped'.

The problem for me is up against the best sides our skills fall away. We gave Geelong 3-4 goals due to turnovers and today, well where do we start. Perhaps maybe when kicking to a team mate, hit them on the chest, not at their feet or above their heads to an opponent.

1. Who has asked for Neil Craig to be sacked?

2. Who has asked for Mark Ricciuto to be dropped?

:thumbsu:

I'm on the jo train as well.

Very disappointed that we lost people, but the over-reactions by some are embarrassing, bordering on asinine at times.

Very simply we had a dark and dirty day thanks to our poor disposal across the team, and ended up losing to the reigning premiers by 21 points.

Barely slit the wrist stuff that some are making it to be.

Drummond exactly the same people spitting the dummy after a loss are the people who are proclaiming Craigy the son of God after a win. It's pathetic and immature. You cannot realistically expect to win every game and due to the nature of football yes players are going to play badly sometimes.

I'm not asking for blind love or blind optimisim but a bit of perspective would be handy. 2 weeks ago Craigy, Roo and Welshy were Gods and we were going to win the premiership, now they are all pariahs who should be sacked as we're about to enter a 5 year re-building phase.

It's embarassingly fickle and is making me begin to see things from Messrs Rucci and Cornes's points of view. Some people on this board need to take a deep breath, think, and then post.

Congratulations, youve won todays game of 'spot the hyperbole'.

Dingbat.
lol dingbat, but yeah i agree with jo172 for some posters esp, for a sec a thought i had clicked on the port adelaide board as they usually eat their own. Theres no need for us crowies to do that.

Where have people gone overboard? Is it by people writing us off as premiership contenders? Because I would love to know how are we in with a chance when we have no match winning forwards, at least none with consistency anyway. How can you win with no targets up forward? On his day Welsh is damaging but he’s utterly hopeless against good defenders, he didn’t score a SINGLE goal against Scarlett and Glass combined.

We're a middle of the road team who are struggling to make the top 8 let alone top 4. That's pretty miserable stuff considering we’ve got an aging list and this was considered our last chance at a flag.

I know people over-react when theres a loss, this is sometimes why I like to point out something that is worrying me about the side after a win, avoids the emotional, angry/disappointed angle. As for today's game, the main thing that bothered me was not that we lost, but the way we lost. We were a better side than them in the first half but burnt the ball, then were just plain shocking in the second half. Anyone know the extent of Macca's injury? I think it was only minor but I havnt heard anything about it since just after the game.

I say predictable is always trying to make things smell like roses. Some things really need to be looked at after this game if we ACTUALLY want to win a premiership this year.

For one we have to find a way to kick goals

In answer to your question, just read the posts including some of your own, Drummond. Jo is right.

The second part I've highlighted on your post is probably a pretty accurate description of where we sit, thanks to the improvement by other teams and a disproportionate amount of injuries we've suffered all year.

The fat lady's not singing yet Drummond, although she is having a few practice gargles. ;)

Strange that you believe irrational ranting on the internet is going to aid the club in its premiership quest.

Regardless, if that were the case then wed want constructive criticism. I dont believe some of the stupid baggings of players ive seen after losses this year could in any way shape or form be viewed as constructive.

What i think some posters are missing is that i'm all for critical reviews of out playing list after a loss and yes the deficiencies should be noted, but lets not get hysterical about it.

People are blaming Neil Craig for the players shoddy skills in the first half:eek: I'm sure he's taught everyone of them how to kick, whether they do it or not is not his fault!

People whining that one of McGregor or Bock should have gone back when Basset went off not realising that this would have just meant that one of Hunter or Grayham would have gone forward creating another mismatch, we just didn't have the horses.

The whining about the forward line is what i find most ridicolous. No forward line would have done well today with the delivery they got, no matter if your Mathew Lloyd or Scott Welsh your not going to get much of the ball if the delivery is shithouse.

Exactly. Constructive analysis is one thing. Idiocy another.

Are you serious? I have more chance of winning powerball then we have of taking the flag this year. We have issues that do need to be addressed and at the moment, I believe that the coaching staff are doing the very best they can.

Most on this board prior to the season starting had the crows between 3 and 10, I think most still have the same opinion. Don't recal too many having us Flag favorites, given the long term injuries, aging list and blooding youngsters.

At the moment we given our horror run of injuries and very few showing a huge amount in the sanfl - hell half the players being called on in in these sweeping changes arn't even playing in the 1sts let alone ready to play senior AFL football. And i don't know how you can have consistancy of performances, when i don't think once this year we have gone in unchanged.

Oh and good point, kicking goals do win matches

Sure a loss is hard to take but really the continued overreaction is getting tiresome.

Great post Jo.

I honestly thought we were a genuine contender this year, granted we haven't been the rampaging colossus of the last few years, but in a way I thought that could help us. Maybe it's because I haven't been watching the game live at the ground as much this year, but today was a big bloody shock to me. That we could play such an important game in such a disgraceful manner against a team with half a dozen of their best players out is just inexcusable.

Perhaps we now have to begin to realise that the core group, who have been the backbone for many years, who we used to rely on week in week out arn't the players that they once were, and won't always give us whats expected. And our middle tier players the youngens (when you get old like me anyone under 28 is young :() need to step up.

But given that many are raw or just breaking into the side inconsistant performances, poor decision making, and at times poor execution will happen. Maybe the rebuilding phase is beginning?

Excellent post by jo172. Predictable threads by the same old pessimistic posters.

Drummond, maccas_no1 would have to rate as the worst 2. I mean you expect us to win every single ****in game of the year??

Can't really say much more as I think jo172 covered it all fairly well but just watch, we will beat hawthorn next week and Drummond and marty in particular will jump back on the bandwagon

What's interesting about this post is that i think over the last couple of weeks it has been the young players (Knights, Van Berlo, Griffen, McGregor, Thompson) standing up and all look ready to take the places of their more illustrious predecessors. I mean i think the trio of Knights VB and Thommo may have been more effective then Goody, Edwards and Mcleod this year.

Adelaide's decision making goes to mush under pressure. Constant dinky little handballs to players under pressure, butchering great oppurtunities in front of goals. Frustrating! Is there a worse shot for goal on the run than our future captain, S.T?
