Maybe back in it's early days, but this season, the humour had been spot on, and Junglist and Bajo had developed great rapport. And as for depth, it's a bit difficult to go into too much detail with only 1/2 hour, I did think it would be better suited to 45-60 minutes to cover things in a bit more detail.

But what can I say, feels like watching a ship sink in front of your own eyes.

Next year they are having a second show which is based for tweens call Good Game Spawn Point where stuff like Kingdom Hearts etc will be discussed and reviewed on that show so that in effect show mean that the main GG show should be able to focus more on mature games and mature gaming issues.

I think the crotch shots during the last ep was Good Game's 'jumped the shark' moment.

Feels strange mentioning the shark considering the previous episodes were definitely the show's finest hours.

Jung should definitely start up his own show on SBS :D Make it an hour long, with two other hosts, one entertainer, and another credible face from within the industry.

The girl scares me. She looks too much like the shamwow guy.

Watched tonight's episode and it just wasn't the same :(.
It plodded along and seemed too restrained and self-aware.

I'm a casual gamer at best but usually catch the show because of the interaction between Bajo & Jung and their obvious love of gaming.

Jung was a great straight man to Bajo's wackiness but now the hosts seem too similar. Still, you can't expect Hex and Bajo to be totally comfortable and have a solid rapport after only a couple of episodes. Hopefully the improvement comes soon...don't know if I'll still be watching by then though.

Hex is ok, but sounds like they've had her geared to present exactly like them and thus sounds a bit scripted what she's saying.

Sooooooooo easy on the eyes though , I cant concentrate on the reviews. :o

Which is why they should of just put her in as a third host. That way, she adds something to the production. The swap with Junglist doesn't work, and I don't think it ever will tbh. Adios, time to find something else to do to replace this viewing time.

Yep.

If they had have just come out and said they were bring in Hex to get her into prep for GG:SP, while Jung did his thing, everything would be sweet.

That segment on "What they were thinking" was inspired wasn't it? I mean in a 30 min game review show that's meant to be entertaining, they spend a decent amount of time talking about shit boring niche' games. :thumbsd:

Good Game is utterly ****ed now - I saw it Friday night after a few drinks but am sober now for the repeat so maybe am better placed to judge - That Hex ****head is trying so hard to be hip & cool it makes you wanna vomit and Banjo the spinless jellyfish is a weak little man. *****!!!!

I can't say I've ever watched the show with a ton of interest. But always give it a glance if I remember it's on (VERY RARE).

I didn't mind Jung and TBH he is certainly better than either Hex or Bajo who I can't stand as he was on those awful Midnight Jungle (?) quiz shows that were on...

The one thing I never really liked with the reviews was how scripted it was, I can completely understand why but it takes something out of it and especially makes the back and forth really stale IMHO also took what they were saying and made it seem a bit unrealistic and I didn't always believe these guys had played it and it was more of an overview from what they've seen or something (Which I know is stupid to think, but that's what I took from it).

That being said, something obviously worked as the shows been around 5 seasons and has got a good audience, so why change it up so drastically? It doesn't make sense. You can't just axe a host and expect it to all go smoothly, won't happen in ANY show. Just a really, really dumb move, especially when this new SP show would be perfect for an actual new host like Hex who isn't as full on as Jung or Bajo can/could be with their gaming speak.

Not to mention if I couldn't believe Jung and Bajo talking about gaming, how the **** am I supposed to believe this hot chick is an actual gamer? I know that it does happen, a hot chick might actually be into gaming (Not ****en Wii shite), but nobody ever speaks about it. And on that too, everything she says in her reviews sounds almost word for word of what you would've expected Jung to say, just backs up my point of it being too scripted to the point that it might not be their own words.

That segment has been a part of the show for some time now, albeit it only appears about once every 5 episodes. A good segment on what was a good show.

And time for a little bit of gossip I think...

RUMOUR ALERT

On the rumour mill today, a plethora of sweeping changes set to affect the ABC next year. Management says that there is a need for greater emphasis on 'Mass Appeal'. Here is the alleged list of changes:

  • At the Movie's David to be replaced by a first year performing arts student.
  • Media Watch's Jonothan Holmes is to be replaced by Andrew G.
  • And finally, Kerry O'Brien to be replaced by the hottest chick they can find at the local shopping centre.

If Bajo is upset about stuff then something is happening behind the scenes. ABC have come out and said that Jung was difficult to work with behind the scenes. Bajo's angst at Jung seems to reveal that it was partly true. It just whether it was because of Jung's reaction or whatever.

Just reading between the lines here but perhaps Jung has been up against management Perhaps he wanted more review time rather than silly sketches, whereas Bajo probably would keep quiet and not rock the boat so that it doesn't ruin his presenting career.

I don't think it's lost that much. The reviews and banter were always pretty scripted as HBK said. Hex is alright, when I first started watching GG I hated Jung for some reason so I'll give her a chance and so far she's been alright.

I don't even have any problems with ABC wanting to bring in a greater audience if that's why they sacked him. It's a smart move, instead of two nerds talking about gaming and doing internet meme based humour now it's the same except one of the nerds is a hot chick. Either way Hex shouldn't be the target of your anger, someone else would have got jung's job either way, would rather someone who knows shit than someone like Fuzz or Erin McNaught.

yah, didn't care much for the hosts to be honest (though Hex is pretty hot and seems to know what she is talking about)

The best thing about Good game was that you get high quality SD video footage of the latest games....

beats killing your download limit getting them from gametrailers.

Just watched the 2nd episode and it was pretty crappy. However jung and bajo have had plenty of bad episodes it's just the first time the fanbois have scrutinised the show closely.

I liked Jung but it wasn't like he was a once in a generation presenting/gaming god.
