After 6 months of speculation he has final chosen Adelaide for 2003 and beyond. I am sure there were many people out there like myself who thought that they could never deal with the fact that Carey wouldn't finish his carrer with blue and white.

Watching him take the field in the Adelaide colours with the no. 18 still on his back will be heart wrenching....

However, nobody will forget that the North footy club made him the greatest player to ever play our game....

Even after everything that happened this year I would like to wish Wayne the best of luck in 2003 and beyond.......refresh everyones mind on how good you really are Wayne!!!!!!!!!!!

:D

Yeh thanks for the memories prior to March 13th Duck, but now you're the enemy until you retire.

Can you picture how bizarre its gonna be that Saturday afternoon when we play the Crowes at the MCG sometime in 2003?

We can join the Carey's a ****a chant and not get cringe factor....LOL...

And when he responds with his sooky la la's at us we can give him the bird instead of fighting with the opp supporters....LOL...

and watch out for the footsteps of Choppy when we play you next year.......LOL.....

I hope he does well, without winning a premiership. That would be the biggest kick in the guts of it all. From the press conference the old Carey seemed to be back......some1 asked about Dunkley who had the wood on him, Carey responded....the wood? Don’t what youve been watching.
He seems excited and eager to impress, im sure he will dominate……and not even the great Choppy could take out the King!

By christ he could...

He's the greatest player that I have ever seen. I still get goosebumps when ever I watch the replays.
I hope he finishes his career at crowville in championship style as that would prove he's the greatest ever. (it may also add to the value of my jumper collection!)

But I'll tell u one thing, when he lines up against north for the first time, I'll pray Arch or Choppy take him out for a few weeks just to remind him where he came from and all the sh*t he's put us through this year!!

Then all will be forgiven.

The Spirit never dies

Does he still refer to our club as "We" ?

The circus is yet to come to town...............

He will quickly become as annoying as Tony Modra was!

He will not be able to fart without it being put in the paper over here.

I can't wait:rolleyes:

hes not in the blue and white kangaroo jumper, so basically we will not worry about him.

the roos is what its all about,

carey gone

finals to come

pagan to sign and all is done,

The shame of it is we will probably play them in Canberra

I do hope he does well and finishes like the true champ his is, I just hope he has a slight calf strain when he plays us and misses that week...

I still love me Carey...!!

THe AFL is all about money and Carey Vs The Kangaroos might be one of the biggest games of the year.

I reckon they could even schedule it in round 1 Friday night !

Bloody big night that would be !

And miss the chance of seeing Arch line up on him.

I think that would be worth the price of admission in itself. (purely from a football point of view)

That is a far better summation of the situation than the drivel and hatred posted by a couple of posters.

I wonder if North would have been as successful in the last decade with Denis but, without CAREY? :o
(Sooky la la? you a r e joking!!!?)

How many coaches kick goals or take spectacular marks?

Carey has gone, but to imply or state that he was anything but a champion, brilliant player and leader and an asset to the club is to overlook the truth ala Caro.

Goodluck Carey with the rest of your playing career (except when you play the 'babes') and when your career is over, hope that you will come back "home".

Thanks for the memories,

Michele

carey was a true champion for the roos

but i look to the future cos how quickly things can change, you only have to look at the wallace situation. i think the doggies are up against the wall now,

but michele as a roos supporter i look at the whole picture and we have a couple of hurdles to get over yet and mostly financial.

you want the roos to survive carey doesnt enter into it except for some crow hack we may get, have you seen kane johnsons player file and how many games hes missed in his career,

give me two picks and 2 players if carey is worth what we all think he is

MightyMick (what a name;)

Believe it or not ;) I also LOVE the Rooboys and I also look at the "whole picture".

The "whole picture" includes our tradition, our heritage and our future.

Carey was a huge part of the first 2 and hopefully will be a part of the third at a later stage.
I couldn't bear "another Schimma". :(

I don't know if you are asking me about the worth of Kane Johnson.
I just go along (within reason) with whoever the board choose.

A couple of early draft picks may or may not be good.

If we could becertain of say a Josh Fraser or Reiwoldt type of player, then yes a early or first rd pick is preferable. But that is always a risk.
(Some on the old North footy site knew all about Riewoldt and that he was training with North under wraps. He was always referred to as the "mystery Queenslander" and he would be the next big thing.)

Yes, the financial part is huge, but has always been the case.

How many North supporters do you know that are not North members?

That is what North and its supporters have to overcome - getting supporters to become financial members.

GO ROOBOYS

How many North supporters do you know that are not North members?

this is what i put in another post recently

how many supporters do you know that will brag after say a win like the hawks game and wouldnt put a cent to the club.

my slogan for 2003 was

hop on board

my membership is a luxury but the roos are my religion i love the game and all that i have seen in my 30 odd yrs as roo supporter.

so im not having a go at any roo supporters/members as they are the life and blood of the club
