A little summary of poor decisions from the umpires last night (despite the fact that the ones at the end in favour of us have now been shown to be correct decisions)

- Sloane called for holding against Oliver, replays showed both were grappling, nothing in it and commentators said as much. Set shot at goal Oliver misses.
- Keays called holding the ball in F50, Dees player clearly plays on and is caught with the ball. Should have been set shot to McAdam
-McAdam unlucky several times not to be giving holding the man, was happening the whole night on entries into F50

Oliver's blatant throw which led to the Petracca goal they badly needed to get back in the game as we were in a scoring patch.

I made the mistake of watching Kane. Apparently the AFL will hold a press conference tomorrow to announce that Melbourne won the game due to the two worst decisions ever made. Also Fogarty has been banned for life for murdering Jake Lever in the back.

Here’s my take on the umpire’s non-call when Murray hand passed it over the boundary line in the final stages. There was a player within a 5m vicinity when the ball bounced out, so you can make an argument that he was trying to handpass it to a mate and it was possible it was simply “disposal error”, particularly when he was being pressured by a Dee player. Also in the final quarter, there should be more leeway for errors due to fatigue. You can argue it was “deliberate” but there is not 100% conviction, more likely a 75% conviction, so an umpire has the right for a “non-call”.
For 160 years our game thrived without this stupid rule. And now we have this shit. Should only be used when a player is under no pressure. It changes the fundamentals of our game otherwise. It's not BASKETBALL>

I am glad that a valid reason for not deliberate has emerged to prevent attempts to sour one of the all time classic matches.

But when it comes down to it
Umpire makes genius call which can only be seen in very slow motion replays.
Or
Umpire too gutless to make a match deciding call late in the game especially against a home team.

I am leaning the latter is what happened.

Can anyone here come up with a greater regular season live Crows match to have attended than that?

My question on the Murray non call.

Genuinely, what's he meant to do?
He's being tackled towards the goals.

He can't concede a behind.

Can't take possession, probably get done holding the ball.

He can handball left across the face of goal. sh*t defense.

He's tried to handball it away from him to his right.

What other options did he have?
Handball it over his head?
Exactly...watch all 290,000 games since 1860 and this is not an issue > forward to dumb ass world of now making stupid rules to change the FUNDAMENTALS of our game. If it must stay as a rule, DELIBERATE OUT OF BOUNDS WHEN UNDER NO PRESSURE.. Solved

Commentary was so bad. So bad. Having Gary spout all night was as bad as having Roo make "special" comments.

They don't call the game. They cheer and guess and act like spectators. Watch some top notch international sport where the commentators add to the event ... Makes you realise how far below our amateurs are.

Having commentary after that basically tried to say the demons were robbed by the umpires is hilarious.
I have been listening to AFL and SANFL commentary since 1971 at 6. It has never been so full of low IQ ex players who are Knobs as it is now.

We had to leave when we were 10 points down to get to a surprise birthday dinner before the guest of honour.

As we’re walking away we can hear the crowd and we’re thinking “Could we??!”

Pull out my phone, AFL app, we’re a point ahead, watching the seconds tick down - yes!!

Of course, if we’d stayed to see it, that might have affected the result…

So I’m taking all the credit 😎

We really shouldn't have won this game, which is what makes it so sweet.

Their midfield in the second half was tearing us apart, walking the ball out of he centre at will and kicking arsy goals from all over the place. But with the right attitude and pure work ethic we were able to force the ball the ball forward and capitalise when it counted.

We never gave up and were able to execute under pressure.

Hopefully this is the beginning of a new mentality that will take this generation forward.

You are assuming the well position boundary umpire didn't see this and why do you think the Melbourne players especially Spargo who was close to the ball after he deflect the ball didn't appeal for deliberate? The deliberate was only called by the commentator because of the angle of the broadcast.

I sent your gif to ABC Grandstand. They discussed it on air and agreed Spargo deflected it. Nice work from you and a win for BF!
Good shout, went back and gif'd it. Very strong case for it rebounding off the Demon's arm. You see a couple frames of it travelling more sideways before it completely changes trajectory. He actually does handball it up, but the Dee swats it down.

You don't think the Crows have given supporters value for money this year ? ......or are you saying Crows supporters are downhill skiers ?
I think we've had some poor timeslots against low drawing opposition.

Everyone at the ground gasped and waited for the inevitable free but it never came, the sigh of relief in the crowd made it seem that everyone thought Murray handballed it straight out, people around me said I can't believe it wasn't a free and only one guy said maybe it took a deflection and that's why it wasn't paid.

Might be the best game at home, but the away game against North where we kicked 5 in the last 5 minutes and Petrenko kicked the winner was quite memorable

North weren't undefeated, this is a much more impressive win.
