There can be a number of reasons that a player is not in top form - and many we wouldn't even know about. I' m sure Simon will be there all guns blazing when the whips aer cracking at the end of the season.

Personally I predicted he would be in for a really big season from what I saw in the preseason so i have been a bit disappointed with his form this year. However, I don't think the out of contract stuff is an issue for him.

I missed a little bit of KG's show last night, but I was under the impression his "drug" story involved an SANFL club. So where does this rumour of AFC's leaders come into it?

Does your rumour suggest that Roo, Goody, Macca or Ben Hart are taking recreational drugs?

For starters IMO the rumour I heard is almost certainly BS as the players (particularly high profile) are drug tested. Not sure if it is the same one as I didn't hear 5AA, but it allegedly involved 2 of the above players who have a similar outside interest taking illegal substances in a pub toilet. I just hope we can put this rumour to rest before it gets out of control as it has been doing the rounds for some months. AFC doesn't need these distractions.

If you think no Adelaide player takes recreational drugs you are very naive IMO.

The players get tested for the harder drugs, so how would they get away with it? Would not be worth risking with the salaries they are on. A bit of dope on the hand is another issue.

As I understnad it, some drugs not sure which (perhaps speed and cocaine) flush out of the system very quickly and therefore unless they test them at home, they should be ok.

Macca I think knows a lot about this subject and may wish to comment.

Spot on Jars. Kane, i wouldn't have believed it myself if.... I came across something 2 years ago at a well know night club (at that time). Fella in question was sniffing big time and that all I am gonna say on the subject.

It would be good if mods closed this thread.

For all those interstaters, Goody was on chanell 10 news tonight and he said he is very close to signing a contract with Adelaide and he is not going anywhere.

He also said he is aiming to be back by round 18 so he can get some games under his belt before the finals.

I guess there are a couple of positives with all these injuries so far this season:

1. A few younger players are getting a couple of games
2. All these long term injuries so far this year could mean that those players will be fresher come finals time.

Just to reinforce the likelihood that Goodwin will be re-signing with the Crows, there was a rumour on the 5AA brekky show rumour file this morning that Goodwin, Roo and one other un-named Crow were about to buy another hotel, this time out leafy Kensington way.

Goody's going nowhere IMO.

Media reports are that Goody has re-signed with the Crows. Haven't heard it officially though, but sounds like there will be an announcement soon.
