He didn’t struggle to run it out he was sat on the bench.Sheldrick really struggled to run out the game. Maybe that's why he's been sub
lol so we should against a VFL plodder.Lookie lookie who convincingly won the ruck battle

Prob straight in for Jmac depending what they do with Mills.Adams looked good he deserves to be in
Corey over Rampe would have to be the worst take I've read on here all year. Just severely dumb.Would rather Corey stay in the team over Roberts, Rampe and Lloyd.
I have done a full u-turn on Pete. We should re-sign him with a view that he will be our bridge from Grundy to our next ruck, whoever that might be.Pistol Pete is the second coming of Cam Sinclair. Comparable players with an awkwardness to them that you don’t trust the disposal but pretty big hearts.
Number one thing for me is that he has not shown any of that brain fart discipline that made me want him nowhere near it. He is going to give a few ruck frees away but he isn’t going to shirk it either. Good on him for getting the most out of himself.
He hates us with a passion. From all games please. Guy was a good footballer, but a hopeless analyst.
I have been advocating for full time for years. I would also like Steve McBurney to read a rule book. I doubt he's ever seen one. I would also like the rules rewritten so they are less interpretive. Maybe go back to the the way they were originally written. They were not changed for nearly 100 years, just added to when a new thing like the diamond and then the square were introduced. But when Demetriou was the Boss they started effing around with the rules and the worst was under Gollum *Gillon) and now Gilligan (Dillon). The rules are so loose their being accused of Street Walking. The media never whinges about umpiring when we're on the wrong end of it....only if the slightest thing goes against one of their beloved big Victorian clubs....having said that if that's what it takes to put some pressure on the AFL to finally improve the standard then so be it.
We were on the right end of a few tonight but across the comp there are far too many horrific calls being made in most games. Full time has to be the way to go, it's meant to be a professional sport ffs.
I doubt they would be retained as they are incompetent. But they are hampered by badly written rules and a stupid system of Rule of the Week, which to me is childish. ALL the rules should be rule of the week.Apparently paid $130k a year as semi professionals with shocking efficiency. Don't know if they would still be in a job in the outside world
Buller played a little further up the ground in the reserves. He was ok. Gave them a target down the flanks. Mills was good. But Tay Adams disposal was at times ordinary, even though he got plenty. Paton got 28 as well and was pretty good. Not sure what we do next week. I think we need to change the bombing though. For three quarters we just bombed long every time. That was the reason we were getting beaten. Their run off HB was killing us. I don't think they were doing too much in the mids. That was about even until the last when we took them to the cleaners. If we bomb long against Dees, Gawn & May will clean up.Credit to Cox on finally making a few calls with McLean dropped, Florent sub. Good to see some senior players take some flak for a shit performance for a change....they probably weren't the two I'd have picked personally but glad he took the stand.
Imagine Florent probably comes back into the starting 22 the challenge though now is not to backtrack on the McLean call (they were probably hoping he'd play well and he didn't)....and they said he was dropped for form, so really he shouldn't come back in until he finds some, that's how the message sticks that we're serious selection integrity. Amartey's act makes that hard, but you almost have to pick Buller over McLean next week if nothing else but to drive the standard/message he just set.
Although the first 3 qtrs were god awful to watch we competed, there wasn't the softness and reaching tackles that have become a feature of our performances....which is a step forward. Needs to be backed up now obviously.
We could play Mill at FF. Just a thought. You want us to go in to next week with a KPD line of McCartin and Rampe (who doesn't consistently play tall anymore and would prefereable play on Fritsch next week) and a KPF line of Ladhams and Hamling?
We bombed long for three quarters, setting their HB to run the ball out. We gave up nearly 90% of forward entries. This was Cox's game plan. Then in the last, he changed it all. We ran the ball, handballed, created chaos, short passed and took the ball wide, opening up the ground. That worked. I have been screaming for this all season. The last quarter is how we should play. Not the first three. Why can't Cox see, the long bomb is a waste of time as it just gives the ball to good interceptors?Great grind win , shocking to watch and what the game style has become
I thought he tried hard all night Cleary and found himself in the right spots but was incredibly fumbly at times and not as clean as he usually is. Along with Warner Jnr I who i thought was even more fumbly, hopefully they both learn a lot from a tight, tough game like that. Clean players win games in conditions like that.Cleary with 14 disposals (most in the middle of the ground as well) yet only 12 meters gained while getting 5 goal involvements and a goal assist on top of his 29 pressure acts yet having one turnover is an incredibly even performance.
I've said this for a few weeks now, but he has taken his game to another level this year, is more powerful, stronger, tougher and looks more confident. Needs to take the game on more and back himself as he could be another genuine match winner for us.Also Campbell was awesome tonight . He’s lifted his pressure and intensity right up this year , and made some crucial plays.
Fantastic game from him
