Nankervis 13, Jacobs 35. Were they watching the same match? Jacobs smashed Nankervis when the game was there to be won.

Jacobs 8k, 7h, 3m, 0t, 49ho
Nankervis 10k, 8h, 4m, 3t, 28ho

Yep, at half time I had Jacobs and Matt Crouch as frontrunners for the Norm Smith.

And how did Josh Jenkins climb to the lofty heights of the 41st ranked player? WOG by a mile imo. Along with Walker, certainly the biggest disappointments anyway.

We don't know it was Richmond fans, could be one of our own?

Anyway, hopefully we have cameras around the premises and time will tell.

Richmond Won the Flag and who are there Biggest Rivals.

Does not need to be Einstein to figure out what Happened

Maybe I would just like proof and not jump the gun.

Whoever did it, I hope that they get caught.

Yep, at half time I had Jacobs and Matt Crouch as frontrunners for the Norm Smith.

Crouch was more than serviceable, battled hard, but he ran at 62% efficiency yesterday. Blind handballs and up and under kicks were the order of the day for the Adelaide midfield, and Matt Crouch wasn't immune.

I thought that Richmond began to strangle Adelaide from the halfway point of the first quarter, they set up so well across the middle of the ground. Adelaide couldn't break through, couldn't run the lines, couldn't transition, and Houli was a key part of it. He was easily the most effective player by half time, but Dusty was damn impressive in the second half.

And if you watch the replay. Everytime Nankervis got a tap out it went to their advantage. Every time Jacobs had a tap out (when he was the only one in the throw-in contest, he tapped it straight to a Richmond player. Statistics may show that Jacobs got more tap-outs but more often it went straight to Richmond.

That's pathetic.Could you imagine the outrage in the media if our supporters did something like that after a Grand Final?

Don't know Dave, we will just have to wait and see.

Hmm,let's see.It was Grand Final night, after Richmond won their first flag in 37 years. The place was packed with drunken Richmond ferals who were celebrating wildly. Our headquarters is right in the middle of this area and a convenient target for anyone with a grudge against us.It doesn't take Columbo to work out who the culprits were.

The Crows didn't really show up yesterday.

The Tigers have a bunch of no names but they really clicked as a team and played for each other.

It wouldn't shock me if they miss 8 next year.

Congrats to all the Tiggers out there. You've done your time. I don't know if others have mentioned this or not but the whole day (and 24 hours since) have had a lot of 1990 about it.

Yellow and Black

Firstly let me congratulate the Tigers once again. Best team on the day by far.

I just read a HS article by Grant Thomas and I have never agreed with him before but I do in this instance.

Winners are grinners as they say.

FORMER St Kilda coach Grant Thomas has lauded Richmond’s stunning premiership win but remains puzzled as to how this group managed to achieve the ultimate success.

Like the bullies last year, they played their best footy in the finals.
Tigers peaked at the right time. The more even the competition is the more likely results like this is going to happen.

FORMER St Kilda coach Grant Thomas has lauded Richmond’s stunning premiership win but remains puzzled as to how this group managed to achieve the ultimate success.

Led by A-grade stars Dustin Martin, Trent Cotchin, Alex Rance and Jack Riewoldt, the Tigers rose from 13th last year to complete a stunning 2017 turnaround with the flag.

Thomas has been left scratching his head over how coach Damien Hardwick has managed to get this group of players, which he labelled “possibly the worst group to win a premiership”.

But he said that fact only enhances Hardwick’s remarkable coaching effort.

“Woke up & (sic) still gobsmacked. How’d u do it Tigers? Cotchin, Rance, Riewoldt, Martin.... who’s their next best player? Incredible coaching,” he tweeted.
“Don’t get me wrong or misinterpret but possibly worst group of players to win Premiership which only enhances their effort & performance.”

Got in the Members queue around 6.30, and now have good seats in the top deck. Then had to queue to get out again! Having my second brekky in the city. Great vibe all round, city teeming with Tigers and Crows. Can't make my mind up who to support. Leaning towards Crows, but my dear old Dad was a Tigers man for 80 years!
Mine was too; he never understood his kids becoming Collingwood fanatics. he hated the 'Collingwood Catholics'.
How did you end up a Pie Vicky Park?

Yes, there's no great mystery in Richmond's win, and I'm not sure why Grant Thomas is 'puzzled' by it:
- Adelaide were overrated, especially their midfield.
- Richmond got stronger as the year went on. Their lesser players became less of a liability while Martin burst through the stratosphere.
- Few injuries to Richmond, a couple of key injuries to Adelaide.
- MCG: it was a factor.
- Game Plan: they had a plan to strangle Adelaide's run and transition, and the players did a fine job of carrying out the plan.

The Thomas assessment might seem more valid if Richmond sink like the Bulldogs next season, but right now it seems a bit ungenerous. But as CFC2010 pointed out, the winners are grinners and will hardly care about Thomas' thoughts.

Did he forget about the Bulldogs last year?

Dad was from Richmond, but Mum was from Collingwood, and I was born in Abbotsford. All the women in my family, going back generations, and the current crop, barrack for the Pies. Although I am the most ardent.:)

And you are right about the 'Collingwood Catholics'. Sectarianism was the basis for hatred of the Pies, and I still believe that ancient prejudice and bigotry is at work in how we are treated today, but its more subtle, and not overt. Most modern footy fans who 'hate' us would not recognise this as the basis for that hate, but it has been passed down.

Just like I taught my daughters to hate Carlton, for the evils they perpetrated against us in the 1970s.:D

Anyway, I digress; sorry for the rant.
