Deledio is A-Grade
Griffen is a flaky up and down show pony. Far too inconsistent, had an average 2006 after a promising first year.

Griffen has far more class than Deledio. Deledio has skill, pace, whatever, he's no different to a lot of players running around. Griffen can shrug off any tackler, he adds a lot more excitement to the game than Deledio. Anyone who saw Griffen's play of the year in the match against Hawthorn last year would not even consider Deledio as an option.

Lids had it tough last year and was tagged heavily where as Griffin had a relatively easy gig off the HBF.

I think both will be terrific players but we'll get a better indication as to who's better at the end of '08.

Obviously I picked Lids.

I was a big Griffen backer - Rated him as the best in his draft back in the day - However, I haven't quite seen the consistency and hardness that I thought he'd show at AFL level.

Knowing what I know now, Griffen is certainly the "solid" option, but I'd probably lean towards Deledio shading him in the long run.

Thats such a stupidly simplistic thing to say. Griffen is not just solid, his evasiveness, poise, skill and class are not just solid, he is one of the most exciting players on the Dogs list to watch. Neither of them are "solid" they're both great players to watch

But of course, he wouldnt last long on Lids, since it would be bad for the kid to have Deledio racking up countless touches on him.

I expect he'd last about 5 minutes on Lids before getting dragged.

You clearly didn't watch the Bulldogs Geelong game later on in the year. He was superb, and there's no doubt that he will play their this year. But why move a fantastic back flanker into a position that we have an abundance of players that could do it?

Idiot read the comments of Non Dogs/Tigers supporters most of them seem to indicate that Deleido is the better player. Lets see the opinion of biased Dogs fans and biased Tigers fans as opposed to the opinions on those who follow other teams with little bias. I know which one carries more weight.

Yes, but you fail to see that Griffen uses every disposal super-effectively. eg. 1 of Griffens disposals is more effective than about 5 of Delidio's.

I actally rate Griffin ahead of Delidio at the moment. Delidio is a good player, but Griffins ability to run off half back and create was brilliant to watch last year. He was a bit more consistent in his effect on games.
